When I read the Constitution it seems to want to limit government. Thoughts?

Universal Health care is great, it's just, too expensive. Maybe, if we had cheaper health care would be the answer as in, stop letting insurance companies rob people, and people who sue doctors should have to give all their winnings back to the healthcare stash of money.

The Constitution exist to:
Establish Justice
Provide for the common defense
Insure Domestic tranquility
Promote the General Welfare

Our current health care system is unjust.
Injustice leads to a loss of 'domestic tranquility'.
Who could argue that protecting the health of everyone, stabilizing costs, improving worker mobility and encouraging entrepreneurial risk (all of which universal health care would do) does not 'Promote the general welfare'.

Yep, it squares with the constitution just fine.

I don't see any specific constitutional restrictions on universal health care. While intent of a provision can be interpreted by the Supreme Court as being unconstitutional, I'm at a loss to see where the intent of universal health care lies. Now one could argue the economic problems and the expansion of the bureaucracy as political problems but they may not be unconstitutional.

Yes it does want to limit government but to what extent is always the kicker.

I think it can be justified because the current system does more harm to the populous than a Universal health care system would.

And actually in other countries that have socialized medicine they spend less on health care than we do. They get better services for less money. Sounds like a plan I'd be ok with!

Where does it say in the Constitution we should have a private bank make our money and charge the tax payers interest on it?
I'm hoping since you would argue for limited government you would like to see the failed 'drug war' stopped.
