I used to work as a prostitute in Nevada. It is legal in counties that are under a certain population. If they are over that population, it is not legal there. There are 4 counties that have a high enough population to not have legalized prostitution, and Las Vegas happens to be in one of those counties.

In the counties where it is legal, it is regulated by the state and brothels hire prostitutes as independent contractors. The houses must meet certain health standards (girls are checked weekly for certain STDs with a gynecological exam and monthly they have a blood check). There are certain rules all of the girls are supposed to follow (condoms to be used for all sex acts, etc.) and the brothel pays taxes as a regular business.

Hope that helps!

prostitution is legal in Nevada only in areas where the population is under a certain limit. Las Vegas is well beyond that limit, so prostitution is not legal in that area. You'll have to travel further out to a brothel. Otherwise, it's perfectly legal.
