Case in point - the fact that Clinton fired all 93 U.S. attorneys when he took office is all over the internet, as a rebuttal to the Bush attorney firing scandal. They whine about how nobody cared then. But they don't actually go out and find out WHY nobody cared. It was a non-event, because that's the normal procedure, to pick new attorneys at the beginning of a president's term. Most presidents do that! It's only firing them while they're doing their jobs - for political reasons - that is a scandal. How many more of their opinions are based on simple, sometimes willful, ignorance?

Gosh, I don't know how many more. Will you tell us ignorant ones if you can? I haven't heard any whining. If it is a non-event, why do you bring it up?
DO you have an agenda? Is this really the best you can do?

So let me get this straight - firing all of your predecessor's appointments for no other reason than that they were hired by a Republican is NOT political, but firing a handful of them after they've been on the job for 7 whole years and totally proven their incompetence IS political?

Bush is evil because he allowed Clinton's people to collect a paycheck for 7 years longer than Clinton did for Bush Sr.'s appointments!

Liberal logic for ya.

Do left wing beliefs always hinge on sheer ignorance? Such simplistic lack of education breeds ridiculous questions with no basis.

Thank you for exposing the Hypocrisy and Ignorance on the left as you clearly can not add 1+1 and get the correct answer.

Where as your OPINIONS are just that....we the INFORMED base our JUDGMENT'S on FACTS...something you libs like to ignore as they usually prove you WRONG.

The Lawyers you speak of serve at the will of the President....He can fire them when and where he decides....Clinton did it early...GW late....it doesn't matter...IT IS LEGAL FOR BOTH...unlike the other things your hero did...Can you say ...PERJURY...

So try facts.....they may hurt you as they do most libs...but you will be better informed than you are now..

Not sure if that's a fair statement. It's the extremeists in any group that are dangerous. Muslims are not a problem, it's the Muslim extremeists that create terror. Christians are not a problem, it's the extremeists like Jerry Falwall that want to legislate their religion on everyone. Plenty of left wing extremeists that want communism too.

Everything in moderation, folks!

The fact is they serve as long as the president wants them to. They can be let go at anytime, who cares why they were fired, that is the way politics are played. Yes it's messy and ugly but that is just the way it goes. I am not saying it right or wrong, I am just saying that is the way it is.

Sorry, I still don't see it as a "scandal".

The firings weren't botched, nor were they overtly political in nature. The press blew it way out of proportion, and caused a non-story to run.

Wow....

I must applaud you at bringing up such a timely piece for debate.....

US Attorneys are appointed by, and serve at the pleasure of the president. Period. If they are not doing the job he wants them to do, he can fire them. Whether we agree or not.

Everybody needs to get over this already.
