There is one unit nearby where I live that responds to Domestic BioChem terrorist attacks only, so doesn't deploy. I believe its the 307th BIDS in NJ. It is a reserve unit and you have to go to Chemical Corps school in Ft. Wood. There are other BIDS units around the country. Also, there are several National Guard/Active Duty units throughout the country that are active, train all the time, get civilian vehicles, and get to do their jobs at major events like football games. Basically, they use their equipment and make sure there isn't a BioChemNuclear terrorist threat, and respond if necessary. I'm sure there are others in other branches, but I know of this because I was Chemical Corps myself.

The personnel assigned as training cares are those who have already been deployed and have returned to pass on "lessons learned" to new personnel.
