My sister and i arrived here in the U.s last april 1 2007, We are derivatives of our parents. Our parents have been staying here for about 13 years now. they applied for the asylee status and was granted last May 23, 2003. My parents has a private immigration attorney. we spoke to the attorney. but my sister and i couldnt ask much cuz of our parents are by our side and making scary faces. the attorney said we have to wait for 3 more years to recieve our green cards. she said we would recieve the green cards all together. We left our youger brother who is sick back at our country(philippines). we made a promise to hir that we wouldn't leave her until she was old enough. My father didnt want him to go here. so he didnt include my brother in the Derivative status that me and my sister recieved. cuz he was a child of another man. he is just 7 yrs. and left in the care of a friend. we are hearing bad things about how he is being treated. we love him so much. we'd like to go back to him.

He opposes a 5cent gas tax to fund rebuilding crumbling bridges nationwide.
Does that mean he was right to cut the funds in the first place and hand our road maintenance over to private sector roads investment for usage-fee in SAFETEA-LU? Because it looks like private sector isn't interested: Can I interest you in a bridge for sale, cheap?

Cop says i was going 83 in a 55. Does a lawyer have more capability of lowering the penalty than I do if i go to court myself? I am more concerned with points that the actual fine. This is my first speeding ticket ever, and i have a stop sign violation on my record from last year. This happened in NY and i have a FL license so I am exempt from the driving school reduction.

I guess after 2000 and 2004 our chance of a fair and legitimate election are dead. The machines are so fixed by Bush's buddies at Diabold (i think is the company).

i don't even think there can be a fair election anymore. What can we do?

In a true socialism (no money, no corporations, collaborative worker ownership of all industry, etc) all labor by the working class should be voluntary (per Oscar Wilde's famous work, "The Soul of Man Under Socialism", http://www.online-literature.com/wilde/1309/). However, the larger problem would be motive. What would motivate the working class to perform their jobs (do you truly believe nationalism itself would be strong enough to motivate the working class)? Under capitalism, this dilemma is solved, of course, by profit motive (a most deleterious scheme whereby greed is used as a driving force). Therefore, I ask you, how can this be replaced in a true socialism?

Does anyone think we should organise peaceful protests in this country. I wouldnt know how to go about this myself but I get so annoyed that the majority of law abiding citizens are getting ignored and our country is in a mess. The french go mad when they are upset about something. Just wondered.

My guess is that its not, but I'd like to know. I was in negotiation over email about the sale of a domain, for about $5k. We went through escrow.com, but i decided to cancel the transaction, so now he's claiming I HAVE to sell it to him legally because I said I would. Is that true or is he just pissed off.

No money was exchanged, no written contracts or anything. Seems like an amount this large would need a contract and even if there were a contract no payment was made.

Am I right?

The scenario: You're a working person, struggling to survive. Then one day, out of the clear blue sky, a baseball hit by Barry Bonds lands in your glove (or, you kicked and punched a bunch of people in order to claim it for yourself...) or you win the lottery.

You finally catch a break, and have been paying taxes all your life.

Should the government let you have this, just this once, and finally give a guy a break? The dude is going to have to sell the ball in order to pay the taxes on it, I read. So he can't afford to keep the ball for himself as a memento.

I really hate our tax system. We need to switch to a sales tax based federal income system, so that you pay taxes when you spend money, not when you earn it. Fairtax, flat tax, whatever you want to call it. We need it, and we need it today.

If you disagree, then do you at least believe that if a law enforcement officer happens upon a nude person in such circumstances, that the nude person should simply be told to cover up, and not charged with indecency?

Frenchy Frenchman would start stepping up their efforts to bear down and find the terrorists in their country. Well, they have cracked down all right, but not on terrorists. Who are they busting instead? Teenagers who are translating the latest Harry Potter book and posting it on the internet before the French version is released. It's so easy to dislike the French, isn't it???

We all know that when people are taxed less ON INCOME they spend more on goods and services...WHICH ARE TAXED, thus providing for increased tax revenues. So, doesn't increased revenues mean that americans are paying MORE in taxes? Does anyone see the shell game that is called lowering income tax rates, and RAISING sales tax? Also, does fiscal conservatism begin and end with paying less? Or should it ALSO include SPENDING LESS? I ask because I answered a question and was given a thumbs down for wanting this clarified for me.
