on your cars. Do you know that the profits derived from the sale of such stickers does not support the troops . . . it supports gas station owners and manufacturing companies in China. (I owned a gas station so I know exactly where the profits go). Do you find it ironic that by purchasing such stickers you are supporting Arabic regimes? Have you ever thought about it? The same goes for t-shirts and those tacky little mettle lapel pins. None of it actually supports our troops . . . Any thoughts?

sorry...I'm Canadian....and the rest of us industrialized/developed countries don't get why universal healthcare is such a big issue.
If you're so patriotic, why would you let another citizen die because he can't afford to go to the hospital?

You can't have it both ways republicans, either the people of Iraq are terrorists and we are there to kill them (one justification for the Iraq war) or they are poor oppressed people yearning to be free (another convinient excuse). Which is it?

In reality, Bush has waged war in Iraq for control of their oil, nothing more, nothing less. If you want to LIE to yourselves about it go right ahead. The rest of us will be living here in reality.

George Bush doesn't.
He added 3 more months onto a tour of duty.
He wanted to reduce soldiers pay and aide to their families.
His idea of supporting the troups is to grapple for more money to keep them over there instead of getting them out of there.
He puts more value on a barrel of oil than a human life.
He listens more to his military than the American people and congress.

I am seeking to have a child custody case transferred from an L.A. County Family Law court to another state. The Commissioner (judge) in L.A. refuses to cede jurisdiction to the other state, but Uniform Child Custody should take precedence over the judge's refusal to transfer the jurisdiction. What are my options? The child and myself have now been official residents of the other state for one year.

As an American participant on Yahoo Answers, I am constantly amazed at the small number of Brits who participate in this Politics group, ask question after question about really stupid things, and then get their account deleted.

Do Brits know how to use the internet?

Im 25, I have a good job in Local Governement in the UK, but I dont have a degree. All my friends are in the same boat, we all work for great employers, who pay us a good salary, we are successful, we have our own flats, we have cars, and I have never been so Bored with my life.
I am so tired of the UK, its weather, its people, everything. I have wanted to emmigrate to US, or Austrailia for a while now, and although our three countries are the closest in terms of culture, I have found out it is virtually impossible for me to be able to emmigrate.
Friends and Family say at 25 that i should just settle down, start a family, buy a house... I feel like I cant breathe and that if I dont make the move to the USA now I will never live out my dreams, and then after seriously looking into it, I am told it is virtually impossible for british to obtain work permits, unless they are doctors/nurses etc.. I feel frustrated, and defeated, any advice on how the british move to US greatly appreciated

Bush rushed to war in Iraq despite no real evidence of WMDs. It is fair to say Bush has killed more Americans than Saddam. Now we are bogged down. more troops dying now than before, and insurgents getting great training to kill Americans.

(You know, aside from not having anything interesting to say, no audience to listen, and no sponsors to fund it?)

Close the door, I feel a draft coming, typical of the conservatives, they have everyone else do the fighting for them. They sit here and wave their flags, attack us as being unpatriotic, but they won't put their own butts on the line and fight for their fearless leader George W. and his endless oil-quagmire.

WASHINGTON—In an attempt to derail the compromise immigration bill working its way through the Senate, a group of House Republicans unveiled an alternative measure Tuesday that takes a harder line against immigration that would block illegal immigrants from becoming citizens while directing the Bush administration to enforce current laws.

Called the Secure Borders FIRST Act, the new bill focuses on improving security at the border, stiffening sanctions for employers who hire illegal immigrants, and establishing a market-based temporary guest worker program, which would allow immigrants into the country on 10-month renewable visas. It also increases penalties for gang membership and identity theft, and establishes English as the official language of the United States.
