Hugh Hewitt:
http://townhall.com/columnists/column.aspx?UrlTitle=what_will_the_jihadists_do_apply_for_their_601h_probationary_status,_of_course&ns=HughHewitt&dt=05/24/2007&page=full&comments=true

(T)errorists invest a great deal of time and effort into regularizing their immigration status once in the country. They do so for the obvious reason that once regularized their ability to move about the country as well as in and out of it becomes complete. They can get jobs anywhere, learn skills open to only legal residents, cover their tracks and recruit with greater ease. Only fools can deny the certain presence of these terrorists and their certain ambition to have legal status.

Which is why the draft immigration law's intent to bestow on all illegals in the U.S regardless of country of origin probationary legal status and eventually a Z Visa is simply and obviously insane....

Are you going to call him a liberal, or a traitor for realizing that in order to be a true conservative, you must shun the neo-con and moderate dominated GOP? Will the Bush lapdogs embarrass themselves calling him names and acting like children?

A convicted and registered sex offender (he downloaded child porn from a newsgroup) in our town now owns a VERY successful coffee shop. He became successful AFTER he was released from prison. Everybody in town knows of his crime but still uses his coffee shop. He reported over 2 million in sales last year to the IRS... IS THIS FAIR AND RIGHT?

Its a hard pick between Giuliani and Hillary. But at least Hilldog doesn't have quite the taste for blood that Giuliani has. Guiliani scares me the most. During the last debate he suggested that our troops need to learn nation building skills. That concept scares the bejesus out of me.

This is a trend that has been fairly constant since the Reagan tax cuts and has been only enhanced by subsequent tax cuts. The middle class is smaller but of the households moving out, the ratio of those moving up to those moving down is 92/8.

My cousin is a meth addict. He was doing well for a while and came to stay with me. He grew up around here and reconnected with many old friends and family. Now he has fallen off the wagon and has stolen/scammed/etc several people. He has also broken into homes and cars and come close to physical violence. I want to warn people to beware of his behavior but dont know which townhouse belongs to specific elderly people. I don't have anyway of contacting them and was thinking of putting fliers on the cars in that complex. I don't want anyone to get hurt including my cousin. If he keeps up his current habits he is going to. Is it legal to post such a thing? Do I put his whole name? Do I use a picture- he has been known to use his brothers name as an alias. What the heck would I write?

I just got an email from my local news station saying that Bush has vetoed the new stem cell bill.

Here is the article:

WASHINGTON -- Pushing back against the Democratic-led Congress, President George W. Bush vetoed a bill Wednesday that would have eased restraints on federally funded embryonic stem cell research.

Democrats, who had made the stem cell legislation a top priority when they took control of the House and Senate in January, were quick to denounce the president's decision.

"This is just one example of how the president puts ideology before science, politics before the needs of our families, just one more example of how out of touch with reality he and his party have become," Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y., told the Take Back America conference of liberal activists Wednesday.

While there are about 150,000 U.S. military personnel in Iraq, there are more than 120,000 other men and women serving alongside the military, but drawing their paychecks through such Pentagon contractors as Halliburton, Blackwater, DynCorp, and Custer Battles.

These are hired hands, not soldiers, and mostly they lack the training, discipline, and equipment of the regular forces – yet they're thrown into the same deadly environment, getting shot, bombed, maimed, and killed. Yet, the Bush administration does not even count them. A spokesman coldly says: "There is no requirement for the U.S. government to track these numbers."

The Labor Department, which receivess workers compensation claims, has quietly recorded that at least 917 of these people have died in Bush's war. Another 12,000 have been wounded in battle or injured on the job. That's about one-third more causalities than the Bush administration has told us about – a hidden toll of this immoral war and occupation.

I do not want christian monotheism to have precedent over my laws with my tax dollars.

The government has prooven inept at intervention. Their best bet is to stay the hell out of our marriages ands our bedrooms.

There was a question earlier about what breakthroughs have come from Stem Cell Research.
It got the usual Religious Right" bashing.
One guy CK4829 posted a link. "Woman walks after 20 years paralyzed, due to Stem Cell Treatment".
So I went to the link http://www.redorbit.com/news/display/?id.

Surprised to find it was thru the use of UMBILICAL CORD Stem Cells!!!!! NO FETUS USED.
They go on to say most if not all treatments have come from adult stem cells, or Umbilical Cord.

So why do we need to use Fetus, when the other options work better?????

I've noticed many gas stations are posting signs that say their gas is 100% gasoline, no ethanol. I guess I really don’t mind as long as I can get from Point A to Point B without any issues. I’ve never really thought about it before. But the other day I overheard someone talking with an attendant at a station that sells 100% gas and he said that doing so increases our dependency on foreign oil and helps to keep prices higher. He then proclaimed this particular station wasn't going to get his business anymore because it was "un-American" and bad for our Nation’s wellbeing. I know that the attendant can't do anything about the prices or if their gas or the purity of it but do you think its "un-American" to buy 100% pure gasoline? I guess I agree that it takes money away from local farmers who produce corn for the ethanol and it does probably affect how much oil we purchase and may very well serve to keep prices high, but to call it "un-American"? I don't know. What do you think?

I'm stating my question differently-many didn't understand that when I said people were forced to come here illegally-I meant circumstances forced them to, their children starving homelessnes, no jobs, even elementary ed must be paid for, no oppurtunities and no hope. They can not come here legally. It takes decades and thousands of dollars to even have a chance. They ride on train tops, cross deserts, dangerous rivers, packed in semis, often raped, robbed etc, and sometimes try dzn's of times before they are successful. Once here they work cheaply which lowers our costs for products, pay taxes everytime they purchase. If legalized would pay more taxes, be tracible with SS numbers, learn english as requirement for citizenship, be deported if broke law, increase tax base we need to support aging population, law enforcement, courts, jails, wouldn't be out money to deal with them as illegals. Most aren't gang members, drug runners, welfare bums. Break the law to feed/house child-I would!
