He has always been a Democrat regardless of which party he ran under for mayor.

Some people will and some won't. Give me names and I'll try and give you a better answer. I don't do generalities. I leave that for the extremists of both left and right.
-Will the Bush lapdogs embarrass themselves calling him names and acting like children?
You mean like "True Conservatives" like yourself just did by calling people lapdogs? I've always considered name calling in an attempt to instigate or insult very childish.

You aren't very well informed about Bloomberg. Bloomie is a lifelong Democrat, only switched to the GOP in 2001 to become mayor of NYC. On the Dem side of the mayor's race, the Dems were savaging each other, and Bloomie saw his opportunity, because the Rep side was wide open. More power to him.
He has always been a "liberal." I don't think many GOPers will be all that upset or surprised, at least the ones who are informed about him.

It would make a difference if any of the regular poets left the site, but to have TD Euwaite leave will have a marked impact because of his powerful wit and wisdom and his, as you say, "idiosyncratic presence". I really can't take it in and wrap my mind around the possibility. Hopefully, Alobar is right.

Youre about 6 hours too late....
Theyve been going ON and ON about it, like theyre girls who just got dumped for the most popular gal in school.
The betrayal they're feeling is thick enough to be cut with a knife.
Of course, just like Mark Foley decided HIS Republican "Family Values" included sending dirty emails to underage boys, they now try to "disavow: Bloomberg, with comments such as, "He was NEVER a Republican, he started off as a Dem, he's the biggest flip flopper there is", etc., you know the whole, "Youre breaking up with ME? Then Im breaking up with YOU FIRST."

Some of us didn't even know his name until he left the GOP, that says a lot about how much we care. If he thinks we do, he's got an ego the size of an elephant.

Bloomberg's not a Conservative! My God, the man was sending NYPD guys to Virginia to make straw-man gun purchases. He's nothing but a RINO and we're well rid of him.

No they will just rip him for being a flippflopper and a political opportunist. He was a lifelong Dem but switched to Republican for the 2001 race for mayor.

Now we have pseudo-cons...man everybody wants to be a con now!!!
No we aren't gonna "rip" on him...most of us always understood he only claimed to be Republican to get elected...he was a Dem before that and now he's an Independent...he'll figure himself out one day...

At this point, just about everyone but Bush should leave the GOP and form a new party.
