the Democrats control Congress?

I'm completely devastated. I enjoyed six tax-free years before those damn Democrats took over.

How about everyone else?

Yes, MENSA candidates, I know that tax cuts are not redistribution of wealth; I was referring to taxes themselves with the same terminology the right wing has chosen. Don't you even recognize your own rhetoric????

My buying power has gone down and I paid more taxes this year than any year under a Democratic president. My income has barely gone up. The reason is that I am middle class and have to pay a tax that the wealthy won't pay because of loopholes and special breaks and for the poor who can't afford it. If the wealthy could pay just a wee bit more through elimination of some loopholes I would be better off.

No one wants to pay taxes but everyone wants quality police, fire, teachers, jobs for their area, public works projects and so on. How will we pay for things we need? Borrow? From whom and how will we pay it back? When will we pay it back? Will our great grandchildren be paying for our spending because we are scared to death to pay for our own spending in our own time?

Bush's idea of resdistribution of wealth is most of it goes to the already wealthy and nothing goes to anyone else.

What's a tax-free year look like? Ever since I started earning money I've had to pay taxes. Only the wealthy can afford CPAs and lawyers to find the loop holes to get them out of paying taxes. I used to be a Republican but switched to Democrat, not that it matters. Neither party does anything for anyone but their own interests (or lobbyists). Can't say that anyone in the government is motivated to help out those who have to pay taxes.

umm tax cuts are not redistribution of wealth, sorry. Letting someone keep more of their hard earned money is a tax cut, as we got from Bush, and was not only for rich people. Redistribution of wealth is taking money from people, sometimes through taxes, and then giving one persons hard earned money to someone who did not earn it. But I do agree that it sucks that this lie that Bush only cut taxes for the rich is so pervasive in the Democratic party that they say they are going to revoke the cuts, when that will include my self also. They are giving me a tax increase, one, they fell for the bull that only rich got cuts, and two, too belligerent to realize they are wrong and we middle class got them to.

Well, you need to actually EARN INCOME to pay taxes. Obviously you did not, so therefore you paid no taxes the last 6 years.
Dude, your questions are getting more and more comical. I suggest you take a break, get a job, or at least read a book.....
Sorry Dude, I pay Taxes under Bush, a little less than under Clinton, so guys like you don't have to.....

When tax cuts are implemented how has the economy responded historically? When taxes are raised how has it responded? Just curious.

Have to love the Dems politics of class warfare.

I suppose it is a "redistribution of wealth" - to the same extent returning property to its rightful owner would be.

I am confident that I can spend my money more effectively and less wastefully than the government can.

Although I do have expensive tastes, it appears, when it comes to wines, and girlfriends. :)

So now not taking from the wealthy to give to the poor is redistribution of wealth? How quaint.

You mean the fact that a family of four making less than $40K doesn't pay any taxes?

Yeah I'll miss that too.

Good Sarcasm, Nice one. My pockets are more empty now, with the tax cuts. They just moved the taxes around, they didn't really "cut" anything.

I love libs who can't for the life of them understand how government receipts increase when taxes are reduced. It leaves them baffled and confused.
