As this occupation hasn't bagged a single person that's a threat to the territorial security of the mainland United States why have we spent all this borrowed money? Shouldn't we have used a fraction of that to track down the real bad guys and used the rest for our own social and physical infastructure?

The Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR), a US legal rights group that represents detainees being held without charge, blamed the US government for the Saudi prisoner's death.

Jumana Musa at the rights group Amnesty International USA was not surprised to hear about the suicide.

"People have been trying to kill themselves at Guantanamo for years. It was inevitable," said Musa.

"There is a desperation among the detainees," she said. "The best efforts to prevent this kind of thing don't match the desperation of knowing that you are being held for years without any hope of resolution of your case."

since November I have been considering joining the Air force, and I want to make a decision by my 21st birthday which is 3 months from now! I was in college, but it just wasn't working. I don't know if its because I didn't like school, or just became disenchanted with it. The same thing happened around about this time in high school, so I finished poorly. I want to join the Air Force because I feel this need to serve my country, I also want the pride and camaraderie that comes with it. My parents aren't to keen on this idea but, they finally decided they will support whatever decision I make. Sooo here are my choices, transfer from my University to a junior college so I can do my prereq's for an out of state college( i go to school in my hometown) I think being away might re-energize me. Join the Air Force in October... or find a career I like such as financial planning( was offered a job already) and do it while I'm continuing school. I'm not content just doing school anymore...

I'm getting a Bachelors in Aeronautical Science. Joining as a commisioned officer and "hopefully" fly an apache. Confident. Landed perfectly twice my first 30 mins. 17 y/o

Reasons why not Warrant Officer.

I get thrown in more scenarios then.
I have to enlist first. Bad choice.
I would be called an "enlisted officer" bad.

Good reasons, just what they say the duties of commisioned officers are, can adapt to enviroments quikly, can do special ops as well. etc etc etc.

What do commisioned officers usually go through before they fly.

How long is ocs then i have 14 weeks BCT,, then i have flight training at fort rucker al? for how long?

IE Iraq, we all knew it was going to take a while and the surge will take time to work, but everyones whinning about it takinf forever.

This is not my point but just an example. So why do you expect everything to go very quickly when historically things take time.

I think yahoo is invading my privacy,because when i search for stuff on altavista (i use it because it is better in the internactional searching in my opinion) but after a short time all the links go to yahoo.com... i was clicking on a link to a picture of DNA when *BAM* www.yahoo.com. I am not amused. Does anyone here know why this happens/how to stop it/ or who i can sue to make it stop?
