I know that there has been in the past, I'm talking about the future.

Within the next 20 years. Two parties are no longer enough considering our election process. I hope someday to have a democratic vote for president as opposed to our current electoral college system.

There have been. Washinton was independent. There were also federalist and anti-federalist. Plus the Whigs. Then again the last non-democrat/non-republican was around the 1840's. I am sure that there will be a non-rep and non-dem at some point in the future.

It has to be possible, only the Dems have been around since the beginning. I will be voting for the next candidate put forth by the Bull Moose Party. A progressive republican - I believe their time has finally come!

Maybe in the future. In the past, certainly there were a few Federalist Presidents and a few Whigs.
