An Enlightenment secret society founded in the 1700s. Yes it is real. But some have taken the liberty to also fictionalize it.
Skull and Bones, Bush's secret society at Yale is part of it.

Illuminati means 'The Illuminated Ones." In other words, people that know alot more than us. Conspiracy theories are distractions from problematic ideas such as, 'AHHH! There exists a small global elite that hordes any information that will help me to be a better person.' Now to answer both questions with a question; Would you like me to write you a book? This simple question has a million answers to research, but ask yourself what an omnipotent bully has to gain from this level of secrecy?...
