I don't think so. If someone is undocumented and they get papers authorizing them to work lawfully, they are no longer "illegal." People are up in arms, so to speak, about what they ignorantly and erroneously think is an amnesty bill. There are already a number of ways that people who enter the US without permission ("illegally") can become permanent residents.

The majority of Americans act like spoiled little brats. They are always complaing about how horrible their governemtn is, yet they don't contribute all they do is complain. The majority of them have never been anywhere else. You can walk into Mexico and compare the 2 countries. Of course some Lib who never has a clue what he is talking about would blame the US for Mexico's and every other country on the planet's inability to be effective. Love it or leave it Tommy. Get out if you hate the coutry and government so much and yes they are one of the same.

rants are also welcome, I've heard god has a soft spot for retards. Here's the question. WHAT IF, before the next Presidential election there was a huge shift in voter registration and half of the American voters registered Independent? What would the effects be on the issues and platforms of the politicians?

I am disgusted and disapointed with the Democratic leaders. Anyone else feels like they just rolled over on their backs? Anyone else feels like they are not listening to the people?

'The liberals' are a strawman argument to start with. Just like the 'far left'. Many of these 'questions' are right off the lips of the right wing talk show bozos who get their talking points from the right wing 'think tanks'. Why not just suggest an issue?

It's bad enough that we gotta look at this president on TV almost everyday, as a shameful reminder of what is running our Country today. But, when both Dems. and Repubs. are telling him that his Attorney General Gonzales must resign and the president defies both parties for a friend. This is the lawyer who worked for Enron, hid Bush's DUI conviction, and prepared 57 death penalties for Bush when he was governor of Texas, Source: Google, information by 04.25.2007 Alex Gibney. So, when I see News Excerpts on TV showing Bush standing by his man Gonzales and laughing at the United States people watching him via a news camera, it burns me up. Constantly we are given evidence of wrong doing by this president, and we are confronted by his steadfast support for anyone who he has paid back for covering for him during his misdeeds, and when evidence of wrong doing by the person he has put in positions of power are uncovered, he stands by them, because they stood by him. Not for the good of US

I like quotes, I like people who use quotes, I believe they tell an important story.

This is from a quote, do you think it is correct in light of todays political direction in AMerica?

"You cannot bring prosperity by discouraging thrift.
You cannot help small men by tearing down big men.
You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
You cannot lift the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer.
You cannot help the poor man by destroying the rich.
You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than your income.
You cannot further brotherhood of men by inciting class hatred.
You cannot establish security on borrowed money.
You cannot build character and courage by taking away man's initiative and independence.
You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves."

Ok, this is a series of questions I have concerning the Libertarian philosophy and its practical application.

-#1 The EPA

The Environmental Protection Agency is reponsible for writing and enforcing standards for the release of pollutants into the environment and how land is used in connection with watershed areas. Air ,water, and land. In the Libertarian ideal society would the EPA still exist? If not where would responsibility for protecting the environment lie? The air isn't 'owned' by anyone, it's for the use of everbody, same with water. Who would be responsible for the public good?

After five years of failed foreign policy and not catching Osama, not too many people succeed at looking more impotent than Bush. But now that Democrats have just caved to his toddler whim, I sadly must admit I think they just hit that threshold.

My vote is not free. Frankly, if Democrats are content to pull the carpet out from under the American people and the troops by turning a blind eye to this total waste of time, money, and human life, then I'll stand by and watch them get run out of office in 2008.

"It is important that the reformed immigration system is workable and cost efficient," Stanzel said. "Determining the past tax liability would have been very difficult and costly and extremely time consuming."

Stanzel stressed that immigrants would be required to pay a fine of up to $5,000 if they want to apply for a green card to become a legal resident, although that fine is not for failure to pay taxes.

Do you think that would mean ALL LAW ABIDING American's who made an error on their taxes will be 'forgiven' as well?

C'mon Americans! Keep calling, faxing and emailing your reps and let them know you're OUTRAGED!

Over here in Limey land we love George and Tony for their tough stance on terror. Just because a few wingers go on about weapons of mass destruction does not mean it was a bad idea to have a war. Only George Bush will have intelligence and courage to take the war to Iran to stop their weapons of mass destruction. America should stand firm behind George when he sends Americans to fight in the mountains of Iran.

Bush would then have no choice but to bring the troops all home, or face the wrath of the American people for leaving them there unfunded and vulnerable. The American public has made it clear that they don't want us to be in Iraq.

what the 'born again' Southern Baptist gave us in Jimmy Carter? Long, long gas lines and interest rates in the 20%'s. He isn't even a nice person, has accomplished little and finds it so easy to criticize others - really uncouth - for a former president who should have returned to peanut farming while Reagan got our economy moving again.

He is still trying to rebuild himself by finding other to tear down. Guess he doesn't like being known as the worst President in recent history.

Let's think again before judging character by the church one attends. People are known by their fruits - not what religious dogma they embrace.

Just a theory, guy is smuggled across the border so he can be born in the United States. He was raised in Mexico for most of his childhood and immediatly went into poltics. Now he has decided to run for President, I predict if he is elected the US-Mexico border will be dissolved within days.
