Democrats in Congress have insisted for months they would not give Bush a blank check for his war policies...

I am disgusted and disapointed with the Democratic leaders. Anyone else feels like they just rolled over on their backs? Anyone else feels like they are not listening to the people?

Is it going to come down to civil disobedience to save this country?

It's all politics our troops will continue to die, Iraq will continue to explode and we'll all wonder what is so important for us to stay there in the middle of their sectarian violence, their religious violence and the area's power struggle in general. The democrats should have stood their ground as they were elected to do and forced some kind of change. Instead they buckled and come September when that funding runs out happens to correspond with General Petraeus' report on how Iraq is progressing? Iraq is a junkie in constant need of a fix and it isn't going to change unless the congress changes the funding. Nice going dems.

I do but then again I don't. I know they did roll over but this moron would have rather vetoed everything and let the troops run out of money so he could point the finger. They figured that they might as well give him the money for now but regardless his leash is going to be a lot shorter than it has been under his blank check republican congress. They have other things to work on they can't spend all their time trying to get moron to say yes. They found a meeting point and agreed on it so they could start work on other bills. Don't be so quick to judge, you don't get your grade in the first part of class, it comes at the end of the term. I am with you though I feel they did fail a bit, but I can see why they would do this as well.

I'm not high. But I AM rank, even though I'm not a Democrat. Come on, Dude.....Democrats are just another name for Republicans. They're all evil, incompetent, lazy, greedy, arrogant, worthless, corrupt politicians. They have no interest in listening to the people. They don't care what the voters think. They are in office to line their own pockets and pay back their rich campaign contributors. Nothing else matters to any of them. -RKO- 05/21/07

Why are you folks surprised? You didn't know that people will say anything to get into power and then play games?

That's precisely what has happened and will continue to happen. It's a BIG GAME and we are their suckers.
