Let's see... in my 44 years of driving, I've had one speeding ticket and 5 accidents... guess that makes me just an AWFUL driver! (P.S. 3 of those accidents were hitting deer!)

Teddy-boy took over the wheel when he was drunk. He then was responsible for the death of a young lady. THEN, he took NO responsibility for her death and pulled strings to try to make the whole thing go away... which it never has.

The story cited was "published" in the year 2000... my Lord ... WHY has it taken 7 YEARS for this to come to the fore? And why and HOW is this any sort of issue as to Laura's integrity? Has she ever denied it? Nope. Is she an elected official responsible for representing citizens, and whose veracity might be called into question because of this OLD accident? Nope.

Look... EVERYONE (well, almost everyone?) gets into accidents if they do any driving (or even as passengers, just look at the NJ Governor). It's what they DO afterwards which tells about the integrity of the people involved.

The worst driver? Call it a draw if you must. The worst integrity... Teddy for SURE.

Like Jimmy Hoffa... BURY it, dear! The Laura story has NO bearing on her standing/office/responsibilities, while Teddy's does, and he fails at it miserably!

Ted Kennedy. Ask Mary Jo Kopechnes family. Laura was 17 and sober (accident). Ted chose to get drunk and drive. Not only that, but he left the poor woman laying there, which makes Ted's actions deliberate.

It's funny how they both killed someone and some still debate who is the worst drive.
At least Kennedy was drunk and had a reason for being a crappy driver. The reports didn't say anything about Laura being drunk. She was stone cold sober, no alcohol to impair her driving and she still killed someone.

It's interesting, though, that Ted is open about it but that Laura had it covered up for so long...maybe how they handled the situation is evident of who is the lesser of the evil?

Well... Bush has two DUI's, a daughter who drank underage, and a niece who has a drug problem. Kennedy drank and drove with a fatality. Seems both sides are pretty crappy with booze...
