After five years of failed foreign policy and not catching Osama, not too many people succeed at looking more impotent than Bush. But now that Democrats have just caved to his toddler whim, I sadly must admit I think they just hit that threshold.

My vote is not free. Frankly, if Democrats are content to pull the carpet out from under the American people and the troops by turning a blind eye to this total waste of time, money, and human life, then I'll stand by and watch them get run out of office in 2008.

It's pretty sad. Bush is not cooperating with them at all, and yet they still give him keep on giving him an inch, and so he still thinks he's the ruler.

I have no faith in the two-party system at all. It's broken and it's corrupt. The democrats should stand their ground on Iraq, and vote no for amnesty. Instead the back room deals are probably being made, promises given and "favors" collected. Let me start again, vote out the incumbents, no matter the party. We can start by sending the House of Representatives our message and any Senators up for re-election in the next Presidential election. After that, register Independent, vote the person and the issues and not the party.

How would funding the soldiers be pulling the rug out from underneath the troops? I am seriously not a Democrat's fan but did you want each soldier to be down to one bullet before they got money? My vote is not free either & petty bickering will not earn it.
I am a mother of an Army Officer & my family could not disagree with this post more.

Apparently more people have faith in the Democratic party than the Republican. The Republicans were swept out of both the House and Senate. In addition, Bush's approval ratings are in the low 30s. I am not sure how anyone can spin that to mean people don't currently prefer the Democrats. Unless of course, you are snorting the same stuff as the village idiot used.

The dems are working hard to get the illegals to say so votes can be gained from the uninformed who wish to drag us into ever more entitlement debt. Pelosi promised to attack big oil but became stuck on working Bush and has left oil alone. Naturally Reid is so busy playing idiot for the media nothing is being accomplished in the senate either.

If all the Republican and Democrat politicians are so gung-ho in their "support the troops" rhetoric, why has not one member of Congress objected or even commented on the Bush administration's cut of more than SEVEN BILLION DOLLARS from the Veterans' Administration annual budget?

If military operations in Iraq are NOT about oil, then why did Donald Rumsfeld continually deny Army and Marine commanding generals' requests over the past 28 months to pull TWO DIVISIONS OF TROOPS away from guard duty at Unocal oil fields?

Bush has betrayed our troops

There are some democrats who came in and who are voting against funding the war and for timelines.

And you are right there are the Nancy Pelosis that have betrayed the American public and should be voted out next election.

She has lost most of her constituency in CA any way.

It is a sad deal that the bribes and threats of the Neo-Con can reach so deep into the offices of Govt to keep the blood of American soldiers flowing in the worse war this country has gotten into in years.

Republicans have been in control more often than Democrats.
Even when your president has been deceptive and made mistakes why do republicans continue to point the finger of blame at Democrats?

I agree that the Dems are not perfect, but I hardly think they have made themselves the moral equivalent of Bushies.

They crossed that threshold a long time ago. They are just now being exposed(to the previously blind).
