Our military as a whole keeps us safe from invasion because every other nation knows we are the most powerful in the world. Even the second most powerful in the world would suffer twice as many casualty's if they when against us. If it weren't for our military we would have been invaded by any of a dozen country's in just the last 20 years. Terrorism is a different story, but they could never hope of taking land or hurting us economically or democratically, unless they get hold of a wmd and manage to sneak it across our boarders.

Yes I do. I have traveled extensively worldwide. There are places where the population are generally as safe as we are in the USA; however, you see their soldiers walking around with automatic weapons on the streets of their cities.

No one executed any loved ones nor did I have to evacuate. I'd say so. I've heard soldiers say they felt safer in Iraq than on the streets of Washington DC.

we may be safe from any average attack but if your talking about terrorist, they can nuke one of our major cities and our economy might fall down.
