On their site at http://www.ice.gov/ they have a number anyone can call if you suspect suspicious activity. Yesterdays "marches" to demand amnesty and a stop to immigration raids looked rather suspicious to me, so I called. I didn't see a single arrest by ICE yesterday. It looks to me like we have a whole department within DHS that isn't doing their jobs. Your thoughts about this?

Democrats are ignoring important Iraq briefings conducted by General David Petraeus in an apparent effort to stymie efforts in Iraq. It is well known that they are not supportive of the troops in Iraq and the president's "surge" plan they are currently conducting, but whether they like the plan or not, to skip these briefings is an act of blatant negligence that borders on the criminal. So where is the MSM's outrage? Why are we not being told of this Democrat negligence?

Here is a new Iraq funding policy. Congress approves full funding for the next 3 months, then 75% funding for 3 months, then 50%, then 25%, and finally nothing. At each step, though, Congress has the authority to increase funding to 100% and start the clock over. Congress will do this if they see progress being made on the ground and within the Iraqi government. No hard-and-fast benchmarks that the terrorists can use to target their plans, just an agreement that progress is being made.

So as long a progress is being made, Bush keeps getting full funding. If progress is not being made, money gets cut off and troops will have to start pulling out.

What's your opinion?

All Democractic party supporters are obviously hoping for their candidate to win the White House in '08. That somehow having the party in control of all 3 houses will somehow make this nation great once more. But aren't they forgetting the founding principle of a 2 party system; the check & balances. We saw what 6 years of Republican majority has done, the Democrats will go down the same path of reckless spending & scandal. Absolute power corrupts absolutely, don't kidd yourself otherwise.
Personally I would like to see a moderate Republican president in '08, who would work with Congress to better this nation.
Either party can do serious damage when not in check.

Open borders throughout the world coupled with a global labor movement is the only way that U.S. jobs, wages and the standard of living for the working class can be maintained. The working conditions and living standards of Americans depend not only upon our protecting Mexican workers but all of the world's workers. The old American union battle cry from several decades ago is now an international battle cry. "An injury to one is an injury to all." If they can screw over the workers in one part of the world, no worker's living standards are safe in any nation.

Global capital combined with provincial labor is a recipe for the impoverishment of the entire world's workforce. It is what rests at the foundation of the concept made famous by Ralph Nader of "the race to the bottom." That race cannot be contained politically as we have seen and labor unions have proven themselves impotent globally as they are national capitalisit institutions.

If in the unlikely chance the House and Senate do not pass bills that the President won't veto, what will happen. The president can't take the money and although I think there will be a comprimise what if the Dems refuse to bend?
If there is no money will the troops have to come home anyway? Will they be stuck there with no funding?

I really don't want the typical ignorant answer of "Stupid Democrats" or "Stupid Bush" although I know I will get a few. I'm really curious, hypothetically speaking, what would happen?
