Who did the "jobs Americans won't do" before the invasion?
American citizens did these jobs!
Many of the estimated 12-30 million illegal immigrants in this country are not in fact working... Many of them are criminals!

Before illegals, there was a trade-off of crap work. You'd help a friend put up fence posts, he'd help you hang drywall. Now everyone is too busy to do favors for people, so they head to the spot and pick up some cheap labor.
And the guy who said "high school students" was right too. They used to be the exploited ones, because they couldn't get real jobs so they'd do anything for ten or twenty bucks. Nowadays, people would rather have their kids concentrate on school and sports rather than on how to earn a few bucks to buy a car. I'm not sure which way was better. . .

The work ethic in the US has changed over the last 50 years. It use to be that people did menial tasks to better themselves or because it was the only thing available. There is Americans that do anything now to get a paycheck. But not enough to fill the needs.
There are also legal immigrants that also work hard.
For the people against illegal immigrants: What would you do if you lived in a country that did not have enough work at a living wage to keep your family in food? What would you do it another country had jobs where you could earn enough to live on (not necessarily well) and still send money home to your family

Oh, Americans did those jobs - poor Americans. For instance, in the 1930s, the 'migrant workers' who picked peaches in California were from Oklahoma, fleeing the Dustbowl, while domestic service positions were often held by blacks, and many other difficult, dangerous, and low-paying jobs were done by non-unionized employess of every description. Unions, labor laws, welfare, and many other factors combined to take Americans out of those jobs - but the jobs still needed to be done. Rather than recognize the need for low-cost labor and rationalize employment laws or emmigration laws, the government just stopped enforcing the latter, allowing employers to bypass decades of labor-protection by exploiting illegal aliens.

Legal immigrants, citizens (yes, the Americans they're referring to), indentured servants, I suppose some illegals who kept a low profile... Getting rid of the illegal aliens won't tank the American economy. If there's a demand for something, a supply will soon be generated. And (to respond to the last part of your question) vice versa: if there's a supply, sooner or later a demand will come up.
(Isn't it lovely how economic laws work even when people don't want them to?)

Everyone who actually answered the question was right. Slaves and former slaves, indentured servants ie slaves, poor people, abandoned and unwanted people, transients, returned soldiers, orphans and teens, entry level people and folks changing jobs, travelers, people on the run, people with drug problems, people trying to get off welfare, people that could only work part time, moms, single moms, people just getting out of prison, seasonal workers, students, and in general AMERICANS. Yes, also some illegals did those jobs but not at first. That came later. We need to take care of our already existing huddled masses before we allow millions of new citizens to come in.

Americans. Often high school and college kids, unskilled laborers.
But you know, illegals are not only taking those jobs now. They are taking a lot of jobs in construction, carpentry and other fields that Americans are perfectly willing to work in.
However, since Americans are paying taxes and taking care of their own children, they need to be paid a fair income.
