Right wing, Left wing or moderate?

It is sad that christian fascists have taken over the republican party and turned it into a big government, socially conservative party.

Where are the small government conservatives who make economic sense?

If Obama or Clinton win they will raise taxes, raise spending and reduce GDP growth.

Just because we don't need or want another Bush doesn't mean we should take Clinton or Obama.

As a Canadian I am interested in which democrat looks most like Reagan. I would hate for the answer to be Romney or Guilliani

I n April 1997, there was a "gas out" conducted nationwide in protest of gas prices. Gasoline prices dropped 30 cents a gallon overnight.

In protest of high gas prices, May 15, 2007 is the day that all internet users are requested to not get gasoline.

Gas is now over $3.00 a gallon in most places. There are 73,000,000+ American members currently on the internet network, and the average car takes about 30- to 50 dollars to fill up.

If all users did not go to the pump on the 15th, it would take $2,292,000, 000.00 (almost 3 BILLION!) out of the oil companies pockets for just one day.

If you're in agreement, please send this to all on your contact list.

If there's one thing every American on a budget knows, it's that you can't have it all. Ordinary Americans know that if you increase spending in one area of your budget, you have to decrease spending in another area, or risk going into debt. And they know that if you're already in debt, you have to trim your expenditures to pay back the money you owe.

Unfortunately, the budget proposal that the Democrats introduced last week fails to understand this important principle.

The Democrats' budget sends one message loud and clear: You can have it all. You can increase spending to the tune of $150 billion, pay down the deficit and create a budget surplus all at the same time. What the Democrats' budget isn't as clear on is how to actually pay for all this.

I have been doing a lot of thinking in joining the marines. The only problem is I have been a drinker/smoker for the past 3 years pretty hardcore for 2 1/2 yrs. I'm at a point in my life were I think I should join, I'm not someone that can keep a job very well. I try to stop drinking and get in shape but I always find myself getting **** faced every once in awhile and ruining it for me. How does marine corps enlistment work for people like me? I think i need this disacpline in my life and I am ready to make that step thanks!

I am from New orleans, and our Public school system may be worse than most, but this is ridiculous. Read this article:
http://www.nola.com/news/t-p/metro/index.ssf?/base/news-21/1178084761114070.xml&coll=1

First of all, the incident is bad enough. A student got in a fight with her teacher. But read the article closely:
"Patricia Lewis, 18, a sophomore"....

She is 18, and a Sophomore in High School!!!!
A sign of the times?

Do you believe that Congress should have to read the bills they pass? In other words, do you support adoption of the "Read the Bills Act"?

If so vote for that question on http://dyn.politico.com/debate/showquestions.cfm and make the Republicans answer it.

What is the Read the Bills Act?

Let's say we provide a path to amnesty for illegal immigrants. What does that say about the value we place on our immigration laws? Why, it shows that they don't really mean anything important. So, we might as well just open are borders -- outside of building a wall, they're just going to keep coming, ESPECIALLY if they know they can get amnesty.

Do you realize what that would do to us? Almost overnight we would have a huge, dirt-poor underclass to support. They don't speak our language, and have no skills or education to offer us. Do you realize that our system could not handle that? Our society could not cope with open borders, but that is exactly what amnesty means. America is not capable of supporting the world's poor. We are capable of helping them reform their own countries, slowly and steadilty, but if we open our borders, we will lose that ability. They will drag us down with them, and we will not have helped them. Is that what you want?

Several months ago my hubby sustained a serious back injury. He had to file for social security. When we got our first letter of denial ( which was no suprise) it listed all the things he had wrong with him. In those diagnosis a descending aortic anneruysm was listed. I called his doctor and asked for the nurse to look thru the record to see when this was found. I got no answer. I then wrote a letter asking when was this discovered? A few weeks later we get a letter stating " due to you complex medical history I can not treat you anymore, you need to see a doctor that can better suit your medical needs" We have an appt with the social security lawyer next week and I am going to ask to see the MRI's and CT scans that he has. I want to know when the anerurysm was discovered . Do I have the right to seek legal counsil due to the fact that the doctor was neglegent in not telling us. If he is not guilty why did he drop my husband after seeing him for 5 years? Any opinions?

I belive it would simplfy things at least my life anyhow. Both are southwest desert states generally speaking.New Mexico is a democratic state, and Arizona is becoming slowely, but more surely more politically blue each year.I believe New Mexico would benift because Arizona is the richer state and could use the tax money to udgrade infatracture. Also we would have a more powerful voice in congress as well due to the increase number of electrial votes as well.It could help us become more competitive economically with California as well. What do U guys think?

Do you agree with commentator Gary Younge, writing in the London GUARDIAN, that the Democrats are also acting in a cowardly way?

He says: The Iraq war is over. It is the moment for Democrats to show real leadership". The vast majority of Americans and the new Congress want Bush to fold the tent on his failed war, for which the Republican president continues to bang the drum."

He notes: "Like most acts of principle, making this move carries significant political risk. But not making it carries the certainty of thousands more dead Iraqis and hundreds more dead soldiers.

"To postpone withdrawal is simply to prolong the agony. Yet it seems the Democrats are set to cave in on their demand of setting a timetable, agreeing instead to 'non-binding benchmarks' on the Iraqi government, an impotent body that lacks authority and legitimacy. That would not be compromise but capitulation. "

Are both Bush and the Democrats failing us now?

The fabled snows of Tanzania's Mount Kilimanjaro may not succumb to global climate change as quickly as scientists had feared. A joint Austrian-U.S. research team that took seven years of measurements from weather stations atop Africa's tallest mountain says that its ice fields will be around for another 30 to 40 years /snip/ The research team found new evidence showing that lower precipitation—and not rising temperatures on the summit—is the main cause for the Kilimanjaro glaciers' retreat.

I'm just curious b/c I just aksed a question about Barry Goldwater Conservatism and got very few responses considering the average amount of responses of any question posed here. I wrote a disclaimer than I didn't want kids or teenagers than don't know anything about Goldwater or his brand of conservatism answering the question.

This question has NOTHING to do with liberal, conservatives, Democrats, Republicans, Bush, Rosie, Hillary, Obama or whatever. It is just a simple yes or no question.

I know a lot of kids and teenagers use Yahoo Answers. So who in here is actually old enough to vote?

I am writing an essay about gun control.

My thesis is somewhere along the lines of "Supporters of gun control laws in America say that more gun control laws will save lives, but the fact of the matter is that the current laws we have now are doing very little to prevent deaths and adding more laws would create a more hostile environment."

But I am stuck about what to consider for my main points.

All help is GREATLY appreciated!!!!
