because that would mean Bush was right. The last thing they want is for someone to uncover their lies.

She told US b4 the vote, no I will not attempt nor encourage any such undertaking... did we hear about a wide range airplane or not a darn thing really done to find a solution to help our brave soldiers? 100 days of BS. personal agenda and rally 4 who?
It is a political season and the Democrats that tag Hillbill will be well looked after. Politics as usual. No matter which BODY Count you look at.

If America achieves victory despite their claims of the past that the war was unwinnable and their present claims that its past unwinnable, it is already lost, that pretty much calls their credibility into question on any issue. If we do succeed in Iraq when that's already lost, does that have any impact on their judgment on the future regarding other issues, like Global Warming? Medicare? Health Care? Taxes? The Economy? I think it actually does.
However, I think you presume a lot to assume that the Democrats are in fear of this, as it takes a certain amount of intelligence and connection to reality to perceive a threat before one can experience fear.
This has yet to be demonstrated.

They don't fear a win. They fear the commitment it takes to win! At the same time, they don't understand the stakes.

In politics, once you've staked out a position and stuck to it long enough, you become identified with it. Bush is so strongly identified with the War in Iraq that his whole party may well go the way of the War - down in flames in 2008 if the war is lost dramatically enough, or surging back into power if it's creadibly 'won.'

That's not fear, it's logic. This is an unjustified and unwinnable war. They only way to "win" would be to level everything and everyone. But then - no oil.

What are we going to be winning, exactly? I mean, what's the price I mean the prize? Lofty ideals forced on a barbarian society at our expense? PULEEZE!
