Sharpton is quoted as saying 'It is our feeling that this is only the beginning. We must have a broad discussion on what is permitted and not permitted in terms the airwaves'

Do you believe that it's the politicians job to determine what speech is permitted, and do you trust democrats to preserve free speech?

Who do you believe they will scilence next?

Dose the actions of the democrats remind you of goose-stepping thugs from 1920 Germany?

People picketed and Imus got fired. Wouldn't it serve Rosie right if we used our rights to picket her? Isn't she the one who encourages protests?

I don't mean army service, rather two years spent serving the nation as needed, IE assigned ot work on projects or work which will benefit the nation before getting the right to vote.

The exact nature of the 'service' could be determined by need/govt. I think this would have several benefits,

1 perhaps people would value the vote if they had to earn it.
2 ANY immigrant would also have to do their time but would then have at least contributed something to the country and so have earned their place making it harder for racists to call them freebooters etc
3 young people could do something useful instead of coming out of school onto govt funded crap courses designed to keep them off the dole.

The man said he was sorry...why does he have to go? I dont think the guy had to be fired from the TV part of his show. If a person can't say sorry and be forgiven whats he suppose to do? Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson don't speak for all black ppl....they blew everything way outta porportion. Imus owed the girls he insulted a apology and thats that. Leave it alone!!! I'm more offended by the terrorist Rosie O'Donnell than Imus and she still keeps her job!

We are constantly being told not to give money because the money will only be spent on drugs and /or alcohol. We are also told that many of these so called homeless are members of organised gangs (my husband told me this also) and that the money collected is given to the gang leaders (maybe in return for drugs).

But are ALL homeless people junkies? Is it ethically right to NOT give because MOST homeless are junkies? What about those who are homeless through no fault of their own? What are your thoughts on this?

What I am getting at is does he not need to clean up his own side of the street? I don't like Imus and am not defending what he said. But shouldn't Sharpton do something like apologize publicly to the Duke players BEFORE he trys to lynch Imus?

I have a loan with a loan company, and I was behind in payments. They wanted me to come in and set up an alternative payment schedule than the original one. After the lady, Tammy, signed her name, she had me sign it. Then she signed another's name, Margie, her co-worker, who at the time was busy with another customer, and pulled out a notary public's stamp and stamped it. I had no idea that it was going to be stamped because if I had known, I never would have signed it. Is that legal?

There will always be some bandwagon that our society on government have to be on. I wonder what influencial people benefit from the global warming bandwagon besides al gore. If he had a real concern for global warming would he take payment for his humanitarian efforts or would he donate it to the cause.

I received a contract from a personal injury attorney. It states that he will receive 40%, and that expenses (even his) will come out of my portion. There's no cap on his "expenses" so how can I protect my 60% from being eaten up? I see no point in wasting time pursuing a case that gains me little or nothing.
BTW this is about the Jif Peanut Butter/Salmonella thing, which I assume will be a class action suite.
Can I request a contract stating the limit of expenses? And if they say no.....run the other way!

OK, someone please try to explain this to me.

OK, Don Imus made a stupid comment, and some people (many of whom did not even hear the comment) found it offensive. So Al Sharpton throws his weight around, threatens a few boycotts, and next thing you know Don Imus is fired.

Yet, whenever I say that I am offended by a certain group, say NAMBLA (a group promoting homosexual pedophilia) , and I wish for them to be shut down, I get attacked for violating free speech. Even though many NAMBLA members have been arrested for sex crimes:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nambla#Related_legal_proceedings

It is still “violating their free speech” to try and shut them down. Yet, Don Imus committed NO crime, and was fired.

Is racism a worse crime in our society than child molestation?
