I don't mind talking politics but it seems for so many people that is their only conversation piece. Don't get me wrong, staying informed is very important but it's to the point where I don't watch any of the political news channels. It also seems that too many people don't actually want to debate they just want to bash people or specifically politicians with opposing views.

Hmm...Let's see- Al Gore, and John Kerry could live there. Yes, Mike Dukakis, with his stoned wife Kitty, then there is Walter Mondale, and Jimmy Carter could help build the place. They should leave an empty room for Obama or Hillary.

Have they not heard of:
Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo: $15 million (and the US desolved a $3.25 million debt owed to the US)
Gadsden Purchase: $10 million
and the USA honored ALL land grants to mexican citizens after these purchases. i.e. they let the people who owned the land to remain on their land!
NOTHING STOLEN.

The following ommissions are irrefutable:

1. The omission of evidence that at least six of the alleged hijackers---including Waleed al-Shehri, said by the Commission probably to have stabbed a flight attendant on Flight 11 before it crashed into the North Tower of the WTC---are still alive (19-20).

3. The obfuscation of the evidence that Hani Hanjour was too poor a pilot to have flown an airliner into the Pentagon (21-22).

7. The omission of the fact that, given the hypothesis that the collapses were caused by fire, the South Tower, which was struck later than the North Tower and also had smaller fires, should not have collapsed first (26).

8. The omission of the fact that WTC 7 (which was not hit by an airplane and which had only small, localized fires) also collapsed---an occurrence that FEMA admitted it could not explain (26).

I don't ask this to be racist (because I'm not) or cruel.

But I've learned that when you are trying to determine the value of something, you can only do that by measuring what you can get for it.

The value of a watch is 30 dollars, if you can get 30 dollars for it.

American's don't use suicide bombers, because no american is willing to trade his life to make a simple statement about religion.

Middle Easterners are willing to trade their lives simply to make a statement about their religion.

Doesn't that mean that if they are so willing to throw those lives away, then by all economic measurments, those lives must be worth significantly less?

Best explanation of why I'm right or wrong (cuz I just think it's an interesting way of looking at it) gets the 10 points.

It would stop a lot of drug dealing and people working for cash while claiming benefits and immigrants who are not supposed to be working if we all just used cards and done away with cash altogether.

About 20 percent of the Maryland National Guardsmen are being called up for service in Iraq. They will be part of the Bush-Cheney’s Gang’s insane “Surge” strategy in that over-four-year old, no-win, no-end conflict. We’re talking about 1,300 Army and Air National Guard from the state, whose lives will be put at risk in a war based on serial lies and which can not be won militarily.

How can this make any sense at all?

Someone asked if Rush Limbaugh was a total idiot, and to prove it they posted a piece by FAIR that was written back in 1994. Now in all fairness (We all know how liberals love to pretend that they believe in fairness) Rush should be allowed to respond.

http://www.rtis.com/nat/pol/rush/fair.htm

Evidence refutes liberalism.

I recently talked to an Air Force recruiter (the only one in a pretty significant region).
He was 27, but had the mentality of a 15-year-old.
Superficial. Immature. Pitiful.
...aside the point.
So this guy tells me that the USAF is not enlisting people with prior service in other military branches.
He also says that if someone enlists in the Air National Guard or the Air Force Reserve, it counts as prior service and you are thus uneligible from switching later on to active Air Force.

I've talked to all sorts of straight-shooting recruiters from different uniformed services. But this guy was pretty shifty all around.

How much of this is true and what's not?

We're all so accepting that people who we consider our enemies are always lying. Yet our own president lies. So why is it that we we accept Bush lies even when we KNOW he is lying? Is it because Bush is the good liar? the better liar?
or the best liar?

I'm talking about those mobile un-manned radars with the speed that shows up at the top of it.Well any way,If i was doing 35mph in a 25mph zone, will the police send me a ticket?I've heard that those things take your picture as you drive by them. Will they even bother with sending me a ticket for only going 10mph over the speed limit.Seems kinda trivial for only doing a small amount over the limit but i was just wondering.Thanks.
