If I were you I would go to a sporting goods or outdoor sports store (like Cabela's) and ask that question. Every state has different laws and chances are most of the people on the internet aren't going to be able to tell you. What I do know is that my ex is a truck driver and he has a felony, whenever he is hauling livestock he gets to carry a stungun. But I am from Michigan and that just may be for the circumstance. The people that sell stun guns will surely know who they can sell them to.

As a felon, you lose some rights. One of those rights is to forfeit the carrying of any type of gun.

Even if it is NOT a firearm, it is STILL a weapon. Felons can't carry a knife either. They can be around knives, but can't carry them in public.
