Politics & Government - 2 April 2007

I have just visited the "Politics and Government" section, and the same questions asked in the Yahoo!America site are just repeated in the Yahoo!Canada site. I'm sure a lot of Canadians out there want a true Canadian forum, too, or am I the only one? We like to complain just as much as anybody!

The White House was trying to character assassinate Pelosi all while not mentioning their 3 Repubs that went as well..

That's your typical Repub propoganda.

Beat us over the head with Pelosi visiting Syria, only to find out more Republicans were in Syria than Dems!!

Guys im being sued for copyright infringement by thompson. I bought a scanned pdf copy of a book online a year ago from some website that sold student textbooks I had this file sitting in my computer and decided to sell it on ebay last week beacause I didn’t need it anymore. Ebay noticed it was a pdf copy and must have reported me to the publisher. Now the the publisher is threating to sue me if I dont provide them with the sale document with the price it was sold for. They said once I provide the information relating to the sale they then will consider for a settlement offer if they agree that’s the route to go since it probably would not be worth going to court over this small sale. But what if their settlement offer is to high?. All this for a 20 Dollar sale and Im a fulltime student that does not work. I don’t know what to do and I cant afford an attorney and I already wrote them a letter apologizing but they still want me to repay them that money I made (20 bucks) which is not a problem for me and once that is done then they will make a settlement offer. What kind of money do you guys thinks they will want in damages or for settlement? Or for infringement laws browken? Would it even be worth getting an attorney for this? What should I do? Any help would be appreciated.

OK, so here is how it goes the morning of the next president's inaugeration. At 10:00am, the President pardons the Vice President for any and all crimes that he may have commited. He then immediately resigns. At 11:00am, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court swears in the Vice President. He immediately pardons the President who resigned an hour ago. Then they go to the swearing-in of the new President at noon.

So Bush pardons Cheney, then steps down. Then Cheney pardons Bush. Then the next President is sworn in.

For those of you who think this is ridiculous, bear in mind that there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to prevent this. Any Pres/VP pair could do it.

But would they?

Ok, I got a ticket in Lexington, SC. The police officer said he saw me throw a ciggarett butt out the window of my car.. I got fined $540.00. I did not argue or cause problems with the police officer. Is $540.00, too high for a first offense for a cigarett butt littering charge.. Yes or no? and state.
