Watching old cop shows from the 70's,they used to put the old Mars light on the roof of their car when responding to a call.Does anyone know when that was stopped and why it was stopped.Here in Chicago,the unmarked police cars have flashing headlights.

I own a commerical building thats shares a common driveway with another commercial building. The properties are back to back. A woman drives her car down the driveway gets a flat wants retribution. The common driveway is actually 50/50 ownership. 1/2 mine other 1/2 belongs to the other property right down the middle. The Pothole was in the middle. It has since been filled. The woman asked the other property to pay but they forwarded blame to me. Whose responsible here?
Should I pay it all? Is the woman just negligent. The woman was not even a patron of either property, just driving through the lot.

trying to make a timetable of withdrawl from Iraq...basically giving our enemies a time to wait for us to leave...also the "Democratic officials who described the measure said the timetable would be accelerated — to the end of 2007 — if the government of Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki does not meet goals for providing Iraq's security".... so if the mess we created doesn't improve they will take away the only security Iraq has now...they already oppose a larger force...

The finance minister is fond of increasing the direct and indirect tax burden on the common man. This is because he is not accountable for the wasteful squandering of tax payers money by government agencies.
The quattaocchi case has been on for almost 16 years now. The CBI has been entrusted with the responsibility of destroying evidence, suppress facts and enjoy picnic in the name of Quattarocchi. The present picnic spot is Argentina.
I wish to know the total amount spent by the CBI so far, on varoius Quattarocchi investigations and why ultimately there is no charge against the culprit as claimed by him?

We talked to a recruiter last week and he told my husband that only a few major types in the Air Force would ever be deployed and we wouldn't have to worry about him going if he chose to train as a mechanic. Just wondering if anyone may have any information about this. I was told by an Army wife that they will tell us anything to get him to sign up and to be prepared for deployment within a year of signing. Before making this major decision I would love to hear other's opinions.

Ok well this has been going on for months now, so i was wondering if any one could help me!

I was renting a property with my ex partner, we paid half of everything, however i paid the deposit.
After i moved out, i asked my ex on numerous occasions for the deposit, but with no luck!
He is now out of work due to back problems, so the DSS have taken over the payments, after still asking him for it he says he is out of work so has no money.

I decided to take it up with the letting agents. Knowing i wouldn't be able to get the full deposit, i asked for half, as both of our names were on the rent book, they knew we were paying half & half. They said they cant give me anything back! Is this right? Please please help if you can!

...My sister in law rec'd a phone call from her son while she was shopping. She immediately rushed home and waited until her husband/the father left for work and then she packed and fled with all three of her children to drive 19 hours across country to stay with family. The father then arrived six hrs later to find her and the children. But, what she failed to do was to protect his future. There is no Dr record or police report of filed. Police should be aware of the incident in both NY and MO and an order of protection should be filed. Family court should also be involved for her to collect adequate payment. What makes this situation difficult is that both parents know that I contacted CPS years ago. I reported years of verbal and mental abuse and some physical abuse to the oldest child. I suggested that the father would go into a treatment program. It did not seem that the constant yelling and screaming and occasionally hitting would improve without proper... see part III

OK. I know about legistation and the like to help with Global Warming. But follow my logic on the best suggestion I have seen:

Hybrid cars: Ok, we have hybrid cars, I seen one that gets 40 mils to the charge. But when it comes out, I wont be able to afford it because I spend too much at the pump. So, as these hybrids become more and more popular, gas prices soar. Now I cant afford either but I still have to travel to work, and shop. If I cant work, I cant shop and put more money back into the economy.

So, what can I do?
