As seen on TV today, the girl who claimed to be having an epileptic fit who was punched 5 times by the south yorkshire police officer, she claimed to not remember anything about the incident but she pled guilty to damaging the car and attempting to flee from police?? Sounds well dodgy to me, you can only see 1 angle in the cctv footage and the girl has no facial injuries, or other bruises for that matter.. (I HOPE THE POLICE BACK THIS OFFICER ALL THE WAY!!)

Last night I went with some friends to N.O. for Mardi Gras. First, we went to a parade in Metairie, La, and I thought everything would be cool for the rest of the night. After the parade we headed toward Bourbon Street. We tried to walk down the street; everything seemed cool at first, but someone started pushing the crowd in one direction; as a result, my friends and I were separated. After about five minutes, we were reunited with each other, but this incident paled in comparison to the subsequent incident.

As my friends and I were walking down a street off of Bourbon, a cop car comes flying a thousand miles per hour down the street, so I told my friends to get out of the way so they would not get hit. About two minutes later, this man (who is dressed in street clothing) approaches me aiming a gun at my chest. I started shouting to the policeman behind him, but the man who approached me tells me that he’s a cop. The cops escort my friends and I to the police car, while I am constantly and angrily shouting, “I did not do anything.” When we arrived at the police car, I had to spread my legs and place my hands on the car so I could be searched. Next, I was placed in cuffs because I was too “jumpy.” We asked the cops to enlighten us of the crime we had committed, and they informed us that I looked like I was warning my friends that they were coming and that I looked “suspicious,” and I replied, “Yes, I was warning them that you were coming because I did not want them to get hit.” About two minutes later, they got a call on their radio, and they let us go to go and harass some more people. I am cognizant of the crime statistics in N.O.; however, I do not believe that the cops should have used that as a pretext to treat me like a savage.

In closing, I want to say that I have the utmost respect for the policeman who performs his or her job well, which is to protect and serve, but I do not have any respect for those policemen who abuse their authority. Also, I have learned that no sober person should walk down Bourbon Street during Mardi Gras at night because it is not a fun place to be. Intoxicated people may be having fun while a large portion of New Orleans’ citizens are still living in FEMA trailers, and only half of them have returned, but I do not drink alcohol.

I know it is wrong and no way should the police punch anyone they are arresting but has anyone asked the question

If she didn't vandalise that car would she have been punched in the first place!!

By the police punching her it has taken the spotlight off the fact that she is a no good vandal who has ruined someone else's property!!

Plus if she is epileptic what is she doing in a club anyway surely all the strobe lights would set of a fit!!!

I am sorry but I think it is so wrong that the highlight has been taken off the fact she is scum

Again I don't agree with what the police did but if she never vandalised the car she wouldn't have been punched!!

Many people don't understand what pork-barrel spending is. It is when you try to hide spending money on something in a bill that is trying to be passed for a totally different reason.

We now see that the Democrats have a war "plan." This is their first ever plan about the Iraq war, although they have criticized the White House plan many times they have just now came up with one of their own.

Guess what the plan includes? It includes funding for a health care program for low-income children.

Nothing at all to do with the war. A bill that couldn't be passes on its own merit is now hidden in their war plan.

I'm Asian and my supervisor is Mexican. It seems like all the supervisors or head positions are entitled to Mexican cadidates. I'm the only Asian, four blacks, and one white, so there is a total of 30 staff members and the rest are all Mexicans. They hold or are placed in the supervisory or seniority party. So me and the non-mexican group is kinda worried that we will be squeezed out of the loop. Two new hires were brought in and both were named Martinez. I've never been racist, for god sake i'm a minority too. But can anyone agree that there is a huge racial barrier in this matter? I asked him for a raise or a promotion because I've been there long enough and deserve it but most likely he will choose someone else preferable Mexican. So is that fair? and if you think there is something shady going on who can I report this to?

to have a handgun in the car, even unloaded.

Okay, if it's so "illegal" to have a handgun in your vehicle, then how in the hell are you supposed to take it home from the store or to other places where you'd legally have it to use, or whatever? What do you do: SHIP it everywhere you want it? PSCHHH!

What's up with that?

I got involved with a man who has a fiancee. I had
gonorrhea, and he had, too. I told him not to tell anyone, and we
self-treated it.
Then she found it out. She got tested and came back negative, yet she
is not threatening to sue me, and she is making scandal, and is
altogether nasty. She says she wants to sue me because she was pregnant then and it could have damaged the foetus.
Can I sue her back for harassment?

Anyone know of a link to an online COMBINED tribute to ALL NATO troops who have sacrificed thier lives in this most recent of wars on terrorism - ie Afghanistan AND Iraq?

I have searched YouTube with no luck - maybe you have spotted a contribution there that shows a tribute where ALL NATO countries are given equal credit on the one video as a mark of respect to thier fallen.

Sadly it seems to be just individual countries, and if you look carefully, you may see a flicker of the Union Jack flag in it. I'm looking for a single vid that shows ALL flags at least that represents ALL NATO countries serving in Afghanistan and Iraq today, along with their troops - just like the U.S. tributes to thier own country, or the British only tributes.

Surely there has to be ONE vid somewhere out there honouring ALL these NATO service personnel in the Gulf today?.. Send me the link to show they exsist AS NATO coalition force please

On Feb 9, 1950 Senator Joseph McCarthy gave a speech in Wheeling, West Virginia. He held up a piece of paper & exclaimed, "I have here in my hand a list of 205 people that were known to the Secretary of State as being members of the Communist Party, & who, nevertheless, are still working & shaping the policy of the State Department."

That moment sparked a "witch-hunt" in which hundreds were imprisoned, & some twelve thousand lost their jobs. 50% of the American public were found to support McCarthy in a Jan 1954 Gallup poll. Legislation was introduced to ban "Communist-speech" Consequently, U.S. political debate & freedom of speech in the 1950s suffered severe limitations.

It was the Liberals who challanged McCarthyism, the resulting legislation, & the attack on freedom of speech. That's why I am shocked to see McCarthyism is now being owned by the Left as "hate-speech". I think history is a good lesson in how speech regulation can be manipulated & made into a dangerous weapon.
