The H3L Bush fellow (an answerer here) provides a perfect example to answer your question. He simply cuts and pastes ignorant anti-Semitic canards that have no basis in fact.

He does not understand what it is that he has copied, but he knows he hates the Jews, and figures that this will gain him points.

To touch on the answer to your question, the world hates a loser, and they perceive Israel as having lost the recent war with Lebanon.

The lesson to be drawn from this is to eliminate the Islamic terrorists without pulling any punches.

If Israel were percived as a winner today, then nobody would overlook the fact that the "presidents" of the Palestinian Authority have ripped off the poor starving Palestinians. Arafat stole billions of dollars, while Abbas (Abu Mazen) has only just now availed himself of the opportunity to steal 100 million dollars from his downtrodden subjects.

If anyone is oppressing the Arabs, it's their own leaders. Davay, do you deny this?

People will always hate a true ally of the US, look at how much stick Australia and Britain get in their respective regions. Israel was founded by the Western allies on Palestinian soil, they want their country back and they have the whole Arab world behind them. Added to this Israel's aggressive foreign policy wins them no friends, anti-semitism is still around just not as openly as it once was and Israel has all the best weapons available (no doubt nukes as well). The country is always torn with bitter in fighting, and the conflict with Lebanon started in dubious circumstances.

Well Israel is an illegal state which is occupying a place wrongly and the worse is that they have curved the palestinian land as well in 1945, and now they are doing whatever they want to do because they have USA at their back infact holding a great share in US economy so US can not go against them.Thats a pitty !!......There is no justification of Israel military activities agaisnt unarmed palestiniains and point to be noted , palestine has no army of their own to protect them !

The B.B.C. Now there's a bastion of fairness. Israel is surrounded by those that wish to destroy them.Fanatics that don't care if they blow up women and children. I would be more concerned with what I see as a negative are countries that convince their children to strap on explosives and blow themselves up in crowded market places. I'm surprised at that, because I thought Saudi Arabia came at the bottom of the list since 50% of their population (females) have no rights at all. In Israel, it is only about 40% (the Palestinians) that are treated like dirt.
