The old immigrants of past came here to either, escape their war torn countries, take up the U.S offer regarding "the homestead act", or to escape a rage of famine that swarmed their Country. But they did so legally, and received their immunizations at port of entry, and they were tested for certain diseases that were aflicting people at that time. They also signed a Declaration proving their loyalty to the the U.S. ( I still have in my possession my Great-Great Grandfathers Declaration)
The immigrants of today are broken up into two groups "THE LEGAL IMMIGRANTS & THE ILLEGAL ALIENS".

The LEGAL immigrants abide by the laws of this Country to gain legal status, they endure a lengthly filing & waiting process.
The ILLEGAL ALIENS are criminals who invade our borders in masses for no other reason than the fact that our dollar is stronger than theirs. They do not legally file for status, they bring undocumented diseases into our Country, they put a strain on our Health & Welfare system, and over populate our public school system. They force closures and major cut backs of our Hospitals, due to their inability, or desire to pay for their emergency health care.
They steal identities, and forge documents, and acquire fake ID's. They demand that our Country change our current illegal immigration laws to fit their needs, they protest illegally in our streets, and hold illegal rally's. They get Aldermen, Congressmen, and Senators, and not to mention our own President to turn against their own Country to aid the illegal alien invasion. Because of them some of our U.S. Border Agents are being falsely imprisoned for doing their job while these illegal alien criminals are free to roam our Country. The have TERRORIST organizations like La Raza who is for the betterment of Hispanics supporting them and encouraging them to become a criminal and illegally enter our Country. But yet La Raza hasn't lifted ONE finger to help the "betterment" of imprisoned Hispanic U.S. Border Agents, Well maybe they did lift one finger the MIDDLE ONE!

So there it is in a nut shell, the "old" & "new" immigrants live a lifestyle of law abiding Citizens, and the "illegal aliens" live the lifestyle of a CRIMINAL!

I live in California and I don't see a difference. THere are waves of certain nationalities that come in, but its the same story. THey come in and try to brin their culture here, but there children become Americanized to a degree. Their parents complain and say horrible America is. Unusual number of the immigrants find the job market disappointing and end up in crime. Some start a new business catering to the new immigrants needs and become rich. The poor realize that they don't need crime to be successful and the ethnic gangs start to die off. SOme come her bringing money running from economic uncertainty from their homeland and start a business. Americans born here accuse them of cheating and stealing, because some of these immigrants have money. It's mostly a new flavour to the same Ice cream. There seems to be an unusual resistance to assimilating recently though. I believe in California, the Mexican-AMerican population is so large, that they do not feel its necessary.

In the 40's and 50's immigrants coming to australia where properly screened and checked for disease but todays standard is poor as crap anti-discrimination laws is hurting the established community in australia and hurting economics and the australia political scene needs to kick out the sobbers in immigration and put some hard liners in the job.An african woman reversed into a cafe and killed an australian ,rapes have been recorded commit by african regional people in australia which all came from war torn country .I would rather be called a racist than let the community be subject to violence ,rape and acts of behavoural aspects that kill people trying to have a cup of coffee.In regards to all people not screened properly.I'm no racist but safety of the community first.

Well for starters most old immigrants came here legally most new ones sneak in the older immigrant were not babied and catered to as much as the new ones are they had to work alot harder to get work and be accepted.I believe the fact that they knew they had to work harder and weren't given alot of handouts made them appreciate what this country is about much more than the current wave of illegal immigration.

The new ones use welfare and depend upon the government for handouts. California alone spends over $10 billion yearly on illegal aliens. That is $50 billion dollars in 5 years.

California voters just approved a $55 billion bond measure to rebuild levees, bridges, schools, and prisons. California voters would not have to pass the measure if illegal aliens were not in the state.

Also, new immigrants fill our prisons. Over 25% of all prisoners are foreigners according to a government report.

The Old immigrants came for a better life, to become American and to make America better.
The new immigrants which are mostly illegal come here to turn America into a third world country, to leech off of our system,and have no desire to become American.

Used to live there as a student, never worked, spend over $12000 in 3 years in education, is that a parasite? I agree there are a lot of people who think the states is a dream (totally wrong) , those who go there and do nothing and try to steal MUST be kick out inmediately, the ilegal aliens must be filtered since not all of them are "chit" as you think, they have helped to build that country along with the americans... the thing is most of the americans point their fingers in all of them and make no distintions .... that's a mistake and it could be a form of racism.
