As an Indian citizen & according to the constitution of India it is your legal right to vote during election ,the right which you must exercise to elect an honest candidate to the legislature, who will represent you. Now how to chose an honest candidate from the whole bunch is unto you to go into his/her biodata as being done when you go for an employment or look out for employee, let the biodata of the candidate make you decide whether he should be voted for or not. What actually happens we just go by the political party whose candidate we vote forgetting his/her own goods or bads hence we by mistake bring dishonest politician to the legislature. But if we select our candidate by going into his/her own background we will be having honest politicians to represent us, by doing so even the political parties will also only give ticket to honest person.

Just for comparision, Indian politics is well below in the list of corrupted countries. USA is leading in that.
Forget about it.
It is your duty, your right to vote. If 90% of votes are casted then the politician have little afraid over the public, since now it is only around 60%, where only 10% may think and vote and the others being run thru hero workship and party / religious driven.
So, educate people around u the effects of voting. (I usually ordered my friends and family mbrs to cast their vote in time, so that their vote cannot be wasted or mis used)

I think you should know that politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, diagnosing it incorrectly, and applying the wrong remedies. I think lawyers are better than politicians. But this should not stop us from voting! Go ahead and vote one day we will have better politicians.

There are few honest politicians out there, but believe me- They exist!! Maybe they don't receive all the media attention and financial support, but they are honest and truly want to make a difference. Instead of not voting, why don't you give your vote to a candidate that deserves it, give it to the underdog, the one who doesn't get the spotlight because he/she doesn't have a rich daddy.....Just vote your conscience next time....Someone like Ralph Nader ( just an example)

As per our Indian constution, the election, selection & nomination is our citizens right. But, now,We do have to select the right candidate (leaders) of the political parties.
If, we are indian citizens. Time is being chenging, it is the voters duty to select the right candidate. VOTERS WILL SELECT THE GOOD POLITICIAN. If anybody bad elements of politicians are growing, please do (VOTERS) not suport
themselves. I do think, better sellection of voters can make
the anti- corrupted politicians. Otherwise, it can't solve it
Those politicians are doing better work, select themselves.

If this is local politics, including the house of reps. Run yourself. (If you are old enough). Don't vote for that politician, but in the primaries don't vote for the incumbent. But you should never not vote.

Certainly we should vote. Though some politicians have lost the confidence of the people, the senario can change if we participate in elections and elect good people.

The anwer to your question is simple.Spoil your paper. Not voting does nothing-it might even suggest you are too lazy to get in there so no one takes notice. To turn up and put a big black cross is a protest vote. Can you imagine if every one did this?

You are right. But we must vote to elect the best person.
The leaders are to be made. Someone should take initiative like Mahatma Gandhi, and Loknayak Jaiprakash Narayan.
