Every American has a right to claim that.
So has anyone else to differ with it.
Ask the Iraqis, Japanese, Russians and Koreans.
...................
By the way, how did you manage this inverse question-mark at the beginning of your question?

America is the first country on earth to come up with the following concept: Everywhere else the power to govern was perceived as coming from the creator directly to the leader who would dole it out in measured amounts to his chosen few to impose his will on the people. In America, this power to govern comes from the creator but does not go to the leader it goes directly to each and every citizen. The citizens then loan that power to the government in measured amounts at each election. It is the will of the people being imposed on the government here, not the other way around.

It is vitally important that you understand this. This is what "E Pluribus Unum" (from many, one) means. One government empowered by the many. Here, we the people are the government. It is the way it is because we allow it to be. It can be changed at any election.

We have the best Constitution of any country in the world which specifically states that powers not granted to the Federal Government by this Constitutuion do not belong to the Federal Government. They belong to the States and the people respectively. This means the Federal Government must butt out of the States and Peoples business.

There is no other nation in the world that even comes close to the greatness that this constitution insures in America. Most countries don't even have constitutions.

Here, every natural born child has an equal chance of being the president some day. Here, you can practice your religion without interferrance of the government. You are free to pursue happiness any way you wish. You have more personal freedom, better living conditions and lower taxes than any other nation. Our poor people live better than what would be considered middle class in other countries.

You hear a lot of bitching and moaning here in the United States that you don't hear in other countries. The reason is because here you have the freedom to complain. In other countries complaining can be anything from useless to lethal.

This country of ours has done more good, saved more lives, provided more freedom to the people of the earth than all the other countries combined. There is no worse enemy than the United States and no better friend.

A government of the people, by the people and for the people is superior to any other form of government ever conceived by man. That is why The United States of America is superior to every other country in the world.

More people want to come to the US to live than any where else. The world votes with its feet. You don't see a flood of people trying to leave the US- like you see some places.

Despite its many significant problems, it is still the land of opportunity- where people still come dirt poor and make it big, where we have more freedom than most of the world.

We also are still the biggest economy, the most generous per capita in charitible donations, have the most powerful military, and have the highest bodyfat percentage.. (oh maybe I shouldn't brag about that last one).

Even the poor people in the USA are not poor by global standards- no one of normal mental health starves to death here- the poverty-stricken are more likely to die of obsesity related illnesses, and most of them have access to TV, phone, and heated/cooled housing with clean running water and indoor plumbing.

We do have a higher percentage of whiny spoiled people who believe that the world owes them something than anywhere else.

There is no such thing as "The best country in the world".
By definition it is the country one was born and raised in. That's "home". Therefore, the US is the best country for those who were born and raised there.

I think it's perfectly natural to think that the country that one calls home is the "best". Why else would anyone live in a country if they didn't love it.
