what I mean is simply we are heavily taxed in Canada and I hear the argument over and over agian how the American Model of healthcare reform is on its way here. Are Canadians indeed taxed more then their American counterparts and is our helath care system in its present state still a better overall product.

Republicans can't even agree with each other now (Pelosi is supported by the white house in this whole jet thing, and Bush acknowldeges human impact on global warming) will they be able to keep it together for the 08 elections? Will they agree on a candidate they can unite behind?

Tickets, Fines, Fees Crimes that make the city or state money. I know we couldn't live without them but it seems unless it involves the state making money they really don't enforce those kinds of laws

Ex:illegal immigration If they stopped and detained illegal immigrants they couldn't profit from that= no enforcement

Ex:Joint of weed in your car = busted!

Then why don't the liberals neutralize these issues by supporting state and federal marriage amendments, parental notification laws and a partial-birth abortion ban?

If, as some say, these issues are not nearly as important as the war, the economy, etc., then why put up such a fuss?

Either these issues are worth discussing, or they are not. One cannot have it both ways.

Anything else just sounds like sour grapes - disappointment and resentment that one's position is not popular with the voters. Maybe it's not the voters who are the problem.

Just a thought.

Would a more socially moderate Democratic Party make significant inroads? Would their economic and defense messages resonate more? Didn't they try this in 2006, with a great deal of success? Or are the Democrats perceived as "too far left" on those issues too, as some perceive that the Republicans are "too far right"?

Or did a reaction to wastefulness and corruption carry the day?

What say you?

I know someone who was stopped by the police. They had a camera in the car and the police were cocky as hell, until they learned the guy had a camera. Then they were like little boys. A camera in your car is legal and makes sense. They are smalll enough and inexpensive enough now to hide and you'd be wise to use it with all the sobriety and seatbelt checkpoints. If they harass you our violate your rights you can sue the **** out of the bastards, because cops aren't your frined. Cops are the very ones who will be blatantly violating your rights in the near future. All you have to do is roll down your window enough to show them your driver's license and proof of insurance. They can't ask you any personal business. They can't ask you where you are headed? If they do just tell them you don't care to discuss your personal business with them, but be polite and have your camera rolling. You don't know you could get millions if they violate your rights. Protect and serve not harass.

i posted earlier to this site and your answers scare me and is one of the reasons victims do get help, my blog is lovely brown fly lady and you are free to read it. You know i am no leach and before I was 30 years old I had already made enough in my social retirement to get medi-care when I am 65 year old. Why do you aassume that because I am on SSI that I am a leach? I have been a valuable member of society who unlike some of you was upset when my sons were abused by their cousin and only 1 convicted it is these attitudes that allow my rapist to walk freely. I never brought this man around my sons and I did not even date. My sons happended to be my only children and they were total surprises their father and I dont have drug or alochol problems. I have tryied everything police, domestic violence, why are you being mean to a defenseless woman and two little boys who did not deserve to have their innocence taken away??

i was at school then when luch started right so then i go to the small freezer to heat up my burrito, so then some teacher tells me to get my fat but out of there! then i tell her that i am just heating my burrito until she tell me this: well sorry i do not care!, just get the hell out or i will have escort you out. So then i threw my burrito at the wall, instead of hitting her (to get my anger out of myself), and started to pound on the doors. So then that teacher sounds like she wants to start a problem with me. How can i deal with her nonsense if it happens next-time? However this is the first time since some teacher has gave me a problem perhaps, i am not going to let someone to try to start a fight with me next time. Also is that considered as verbal abuse? U know what i mean, such as like someone-else trying to raise there own voice at someone-else.

Also, why are republicans being such blabber mouths and revealing a lot of secrets? Shouldn't they go om trial, who ever is 'leaking' this to the press?

November, Specialist Gunn had suffered devastating injuries up and down the left side of his body when a roadside bomb obliterated the Humvee he was driving He also had to deal with the trauma of the sergeant in the seat behind his being ripped to shreds in the explosion.
Soon he was displaying classic symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, (PTSD) - anxiety, insomnia interspersed with recurring nightmares, and extreme agitation.
It used to be accepted practice in the US military not to return a soldier to active duty unless he was fully fit - not just out of consideration for his own needs, but also to protect other members of his unit. In Iraq, however, growing anecdotal evidencesuggests that a new policy is emerging - to patch up the wounded as quickly as possible and ship them straight back, threatening them with disciplinary action or even court martial if they show the slightest reluctance. That, according to the available evidence, is what happened to Jason Gunn.

If a person is found guilty, why do we continue to pay for their room and board. If the evidence shows that person, and no one else possible did it, whats the purpose for keeping them in jail until their execution. We put them in jail for 20-40 years, so they can wait to die. Why not give them 72 hours, once found guilty, to get their personal affairs in order, and execute them then. I don't condone killing, this is coming from a taxpaying situation.
