I attached his name because he believes in it, effectively removing the partisanship from it. I see you trying to replace that partisanship. Not very american of you.

In my opinion, global warming is an opinion and not a scientific fact. I was discussing this last night with a few of my liberal friends and one pointed me to a study that was on the net.
I was reading this morning about the Antartica ice caps and how some have shrunk but others have gained in size all on the same continent. The conclusion of the scientific study was is that they don't have enough information to determine if the climate was changing or not and therefore more study was needed. See this study
http://www.antarctica.ac.uk/Key_Topics/IceSheet_SeaLevel/index.html
Since the last ice age, the earth has warmed. That is a scientific fact. We had a minor cooling in the mid 40's to the late 80's and we have a mild warming from the 90's to now. Is that global warming, I personally don't think so. Is this a fluxuating weather pattern or is it global warming. In the words of this study I copied the link from...........
At present, the timescales of the changes in the sea condition, that might be driving the ice sheet, are not clear, and there are too few measurements to establish whether any change is on-going. Since ocean temperature and circulation is linked to atmospheric climate, the oceans provide plausible connection between anthropogenic greenhouse emissions and the changes we are seeing in this part of the Antarctic ice sheet. However there are other, competing theories as to why this change may be taking place; for example, it is possible that this is part of a longer-term retreat of the ice sheet has been going on for millennia.
The questions of whether observed changes are evidence of an imminent deglaciation of this area, and whether that change was caused by human influence, is now a major research priority. If deglaciation of this portion of the ice sheet were to begin, then present estimates of the likely rate of sea-level rise over the coming centuries could be significantly too low.
British Antarctic Survey has programmes of research that will advance understanding of how each of these regions of Antarctica and each of these processes will contribute to sea level change in coming centuries.
To me this means - We do not know what is causing this. It could be a normal nature occurence that has happened for thousands of years. We do not have enough evidence to make a determination and it requires more study.
But the liberals read this as being the ice sheet is melting because of pollution, therefore global warming is real and we must act now before it is too late.
So I have a hard time believing everything I read in the media about this issue.

I have family trying to live in New Orleans and Waveland, Ms..
I remember the '05 hurricane season. I saw the strongest hurricane ever recorded that year. I saw something that had never happened before, and was thought to be impossible. A hurricane hit Brazil. Neither of those two hurricanes were Rita or Katrina. Yes, I believe that global warming is definitely happening.
Those who don't want to believe, because of their political beliefs or whatever, don't matter anymore. The scientist, who recently met in Paris. Made it clear that global warming is happening and that this global warming is almost certainly caused by man's use of fossil fuels. They also said that it's too late.
So don't worry you political ideologues. You won.

Is human activity the one and only cause of global warming? Of course not, there are plenty of other natural cycles and phenomena that can explain some temperature variations of periods of time (like the ice age).
Does human activity contribute to global climate change? Of course, the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere is linked to the greenhouse effect and average global temperature. Human activity puts a lot of CO2 into the atmosphere (burning fossil fuels) while removing some of the plants and trees that help control the CO2 levels (destruction of the rain forest).
The latest report from a world meteorological organization actually states that it is ninety percent likely that human activity plays some role in global warming. Since we cannot control the natural forces and cycles at work, we must try to control our own activity to lessen our impact on the global climate.

Your right ignorance, Bush stated that the cause of Global Warming was the Polar Bears . That they are so heavy that sit on the ice and it falls into the water because they are to heavy, they do it over and over and the Polar Bears. are causing all Global Warming, D U H !!!!!!!. Blaming our Poor Polar Bears.

Gee, I dunno.
Could pumping billions of tons of chemicals into the atmosphere for decades have negative effects?
We should keep doing it for several hundred more years to be sure.

Isnt it strange, that republicans on one hand say that Global Warming is a natural re-occuring event that happens every 100,000 years, yet they also tell us that the earth is only 4000 years old when it comes to religion and moral issues.

I disagree with him on this issue. The earth is billions of years old and has gone through ice ages and severe drought long before we built our first factory. The polar ice caps have melted before and refroze...most likely hundred or thousands of times. This is just another scare tactic to get us to change our lifestyle so we resemble a 3rd world country. The Neo-Libs would love that.

I think we all have, in combination with normal weather trends. What I disagree with is you attaching President Bush's name to it like he's responsible. We have all done what ever damage is done. Now we all have a responsibility to do something about it. Since you are probably a liberal, you could start by writing Princess Pelosi and telling her to select a smaller jet, now couldn't you?
