i posted earlier to this site and your answers scare me and is one of the reasons victims do get help, my blog is lovely brown fly lady and you are free to read it. You know i am no leach and before I was 30 years old I had already made enough in my social retirement to get medi-care when I am 65 year old. Why do you aassume that because I am on SSI that I am a leach? I have been a valuable member of society who unlike some of you was upset when my sons were abused by their cousin and only 1 convicted it is these attitudes that allow my rapist to walk freely. I never brought this man around my sons and I did not even date. My sons happended to be my only children and they were total surprises their father and I dont have drug or alochol problems. I have tryied everything police, domestic violence, why are you being mean to a defenseless woman and two little boys who did not deserve to have their innocence taken away??

It's easy to talk down on another person whose shoes one has never walked in. Ignore those losers who have no idea how lucky they are not to know first-hand what you are going through.

I know of another rape victim, who, since the rape, has not been able to leave her home for more than a minute or two. She suffers from severe agoraphobia directly due to the rape. Until recently her children were home schooled because she was too afraid to leave the house to take them to school, and too afraid to let her teenage daughter to leave the house for fear she would be raped as well. She is getting better...but she too receives SSI.

She is hardly a leach. And neither are you. I am so sorry you had to go through this, and doubly sorry for your children.

People here can be ignorant and cruel; they have no reason to be nice because we don't know who they really are. It's cowardice, plain and simple.

These are people that do not know the torment and sheer hell the victims have been through and if they did they still would not care, because they have the sadly to say shared notion of many, that rape victims somehow brought it on themselves. You can not change the minds of these type of people until it happens to someone they care about and maybe not until it actually happens to THEM!!!

i understand where you're coming from (i too have been put off work & had to file the SS...) although mine wasn't due to rape - i suffer from severe ptsd (& several other serious physical & emotional issues), i wouldn't wish what i go thru on anyone, i was standin beside my mom when she was accidentally shot & killed,(i was 5), years later i walked in on my stepmom/dad - homocide/suicide... needless to say i have more than my fair share of issues.... there are many people that will say things via the puter to ppl to be hurtful, smartazzy, arrogant, mean, etc., just to make them feel big & feel good about themselves - it's no different than the bully in school, that hates himself/herself so much that they are mean & ugly to anyone they find to be weaker - it's sad.... it's really sad that even in "cyber communities" ppl don't treat each other with respect. I'm very sorry for what you've gone thru - it seems we are kindred spirits, if u would like check my profile & email me.

Because society loves to blame the victim. It is society that has the problem, the system has a major problem, and there is nothing - NOTHING - wrong with you. In fact, let your accusers walk a mile, hell even a step, in your shoes and see how well they fare. Good luck to you and your sons and God bless you all. Those who hurt you and your kids are going to answer to Him someday. I do believe it.

America is becoming a society of professional victims.

Yes, life can be hard and sometimes bad things happen to us - but that doesn't mean we should get PAID for it.

We toughen up and move on - not drain the Social Security coffers that are supposed to be for working people when they retire.

I wouldn't take what some person says to heart like that. People are entitled to their own opinion- even though they may have stupid opinions- don't take it personally. Live your life the way you know best and don't let anyone else tell you what how to feel!

Ignore it and move on. I'm sorry not every one is nice, i wish they were. There are always people out there trying to upset or offend someone. I think most of them are insecure. Anyways good luck to you and your children, i wish you the best of luck

Perhaps the fact that you are wallowing in self pity and trolling for sympathy is what makes you such an easy target.
Your sentences run on and very poorly formed...making your question hard to decipher and your credibility questionable.

If you were raped, that's a terrible thing and doesn't make you a leach.

How were your son's surprises? Did you not know what would happen when you had sex?

In a world where are lot of people are sick of political correctness... people like to say whatever the feel and even worse than they feel to buck that trend.. albeit in an anonymous and cowardly way...
