We got attacked, we attacked back

We declared a war on TERRORISM, which means in ALL countries in the Middle East.

Or did you forget that, like so many other Americans?

Much of the world are confronting what is called terrorism. We have heard the word, Tyrant, to describe a leader that is in total control. When any group is willing to use bombings; shootings; kidnappings; and other means to try to force others into their religion, the world is at war! We all should be allowed to worship who we choose! We see these terrorist attacks all over the world, including the Philippines and even France, which has many Muslims. All Muslims do not believe in killing others because of others having a different faith! I, myself, believe in a God of choice! I am sure He wants all to choose what they will believe! Nations that support terror through finances or other means, are at war with the rest of the world, just as the terrorists are! God bless, Earl

The United States is at war with large networks of terrorist organizations whose goals are, among other things, spreading Islam through any means. It is the belief of these groups that the Quran requires that Muslims convert "infidels" (non-Muslims) to the religion of Islam by force; those who refuse or desist are deemed "warring with" Islam and are subject to attack at any time and by any means. Historically, this belief goes back to the 600s from the days of the Prophet Mohammed, founder of Islam. and was the impetus for much of the Islamic conquest in the Middle East, Spain and North Africa.

The United States invaded Iraq in 2003 in part due to Saddam Hussein's support of global terrorism. He housed, clothed, fed, and supported terrorists financially. Also, the US suspected that Saddam possessed weapons of mass destruction. While such weapons were not found in great quantity, over 500 were in fact found as well as labs and equipment for the production and research of WMDs. Moreover, while a large cache of weapons was not found, Saddam and his Baath party had great motivation to sell, hide, or destroy them.

One goal in invading Iraq was overthrowing Saddam and instituting a stable democratic government. While Saddam was deposed, a new Iraqi Constitution written, and free elections took place, parts of the country still remain unstable due to warring Islamic factions (Shias and Sunnis) and terrorists groups, which are supported by Syria and Iran.

The US also invaded Afghanistan on the belief that Osama bin Laden, the leader of the terror group al Qaeda, had engineered the events of 9/11/01. (He later admitted on a video that he and his organization planned and plotted the 9/11 attacks.) Bin Laden is protected by an armed militia, and moves around frequently. He has not been found to this day.

The problem of global terror began in the 1970s when a radical form of Islam was disseminated. The U.S. was victim to this in 1979 during the hostage crisis in Iran. Through much of the 1990s, the U.S. was targeted frequently for terrorist attacks and terrorism increased to global proportions.

If George W Bush doesnt even know the answer to this, how is the American public supposed to.

I think its something to do with Iraq possibly having WMD's, despite the fact that other 'axis of evil' nations have been proven to have WMD's yet America doesnt touch them.

Think of it like the playground bully, you dont go picking on the toughest guy do you? you look for the weakling who insulted your Dad a few years ago.
