Watched John Boehner, the Republic's minority whip, today on CSPAN giving a press conference.

4 times in what he had to say, he used the statement about Democrats, "..fleeing Iraq..." I seriously laughed out loud. Not one Democrat is saying to leave Iraq... we are all saying to fix it IN THE RIGHT WAY as recommended by the Generals, the Iraqi Study Group, etc....

Seriously, does anyone know of one single democrat, not even Kucinich now, that is saying., "Pack up your things and get out of Iraq TODAY."? = NO

I am a little confused. There are so many that say global warming not only exists but that it is caused by humans and their SUVs. There are also many that say global warming in a hoax.

What I don't understand is this show I was watching on the discovery channel the other night. It was about a tribe that existed at the end of the ice age and how they lived and stuff like that. It said that at the end of their age most of the ice covering the earth melted to pretty much what we know today. Now my question is: What SUVs were these ice men driving to cause all that ice to melt?

Try and leave politics out of this discussion...if we even can. Separating the position from the men who have held it, do you respect the office of The President of the United States? Why or why not?

And if so, how does that affect how you feel towards the politics of some of the men who have held that position?

Is it right for the gay community to force Snickers to apologize for a commercial and have them take it off the air because they find it offensive? Or for the suicide help line to force GM to take off the "Perfectionist Robot"? Am I allowed to force a certain company to take something off because I myself am offended? Isn't that a first amendment right given to everybody? Freedom of speech??? Isn't advertising a way to speak?

I found this letter to the President today. To be fair it was written by a Conservative Talk Show Host. Please read and comment on the issues he points out.

Subject: Vacation in Mexico

Dear Mr. President,

I'm about to plan a little trip with my family and extended family, And I would like to ask you to assist me. I'm going to walk across the border from the U.S. into Mexico, and I need to make a few arrangements. I know you can help with this. I plan to skip all the legal stuff like visas, passports, immigration quotas and laws. I'm sure they handle those things the same way you do here. So, would you mind telling your buddy, President Vicente Fox, that I'm on my way over? Please let him know that I will be expecting the following:
1. Free medical care for my entire family .
2. English-speaking government bureaucrats for all services I might need, whether I use them or not.
3. All government forms need to be printed in English.
4. I want my kids to be taught by English-speaking teachers.
5. Schools need to include classes on American culture and history.
6. I want my kids to see the American flag flying on the top of the flag pole at their school with the Mexican flag flying lower down.
7. Please plan to feed my kids at school for both breakfast and lunch.
8. I will need a local Mexican driver's license so I can get easy access to government services.
9. I do not plan to have any car insurance, and I won't make any effort to learn local traffic laws.
10. In case one of the Mexican police officers does not get the memo from Pres. Fox to leave me alone, please be sure that all police officers speak English.
11. I plan to fly the U.S. flag from my house top, put flag decals on my car, and have a gigantic celebration on July 4th. I do not want any complaints or negative comments from the locals.
12. I would also like to have a nice job without paying any taxes, and don't enforce any labor laws or tax laws.
13. Please tell all the people in the country to be extremely nice and never say a critical word about me, or about the strain I might place on the economy. I know this is an easy request b ecause you already do all these things for all t he people who come to the U.S. from Mexico. I am sure that Pres. Fox won't mind returning the favor if you ask him nicely. However, if he gives you any trouble, just invite him to go quail hunting with your V.P.

My husabnd is getting ready to do a one year contract over there and they told him that after 90 days my daughter and I can join him over there.
I just wanted to see if anyone has ever been there before and tell me a little bit of what it's like there before.

All I know is that we'll be living in one of the houses on the compound there. I guess I would just like to know what it's like living there.

While crossing at a crosswalk yesterday, I got hit by a car. The driver was speeding and did not even slow down for me, according to several witnesses. The cops told me it was most definitely his fault.

However, I was amazingly not that badly hurt. I think all my winter clothes protected me from anything too serious, so I am basically just bruised all over and sore... can't really move a whole lot.

Everyone is telling me to sue the guy. Obviously, I want to recover for my medical bills and some damaged property. But beyond that, can I actually sue him (or his insurance company) for anything? Should I get a lawyer?

Thanks in advance for any advice.
