Try and leave politics out of this discussion...if we even can. Separating the position from the men who have held it, do you respect the office of The President of the United States? Why or why not?

And if so, how does that affect how you feel towards the politics of some of the men who have held that position?

The President of the United States must be respected since it is the position of the head of country whoever sits on it. The occupant must be impeached only if there is really evidence that a crime was committed.

In depends what you mean by respect. Blind obedience in policy could be regarded as respect but thats the extreme case. Whether people expressing criticism of the president is considered disrespectful is also debateable. I think that the office of the president is an important position and requires a degree of formality, but foremost, the president is a public servant, elected by the public to lead all people in the country. If people think he or she is doing a bad job they should have the right to voice they're opinions whether they be disrespectful or not.

So yes, i respect the office, but that shouldnt effect the opinions that I hold for the person holding the job.

good question man.

Yes, I do respect the office.
I didn't like former President Clinton, but I still respected the office.
I think it emboldens our enemies when we don't respect the office. Besides, it takes a lot of guts to be president. I have a lot of admiration for every man that's held the position, even if I didn't agree with many things that they did.

Of course I respect this position. I firmly believe in the fathers of this nation and the powers they bestowed upon the offices that they created. As for the men who have held them, there have been good and bad but the will of the american people always overcomes the bad.

Yes, immensely. Although some of the more recent occupants of the oval office have brought shame and dishonor to the office, I still have a great amount of respect for the office of the President.

Yes, the Office is to be respected regardless who is in the oval office. However, I am really disappointed in how few people take the time to study the issues and then vote. We get the government we deserve.

I respect the position itself, but that does not necessarily mean I respect the person holding it as a result.

yes. the office of the presidential head of our country is a position of power that commands respect. However the amount of respect given is determined by the performance of the current president and whether he or she is an illiterate redneck or not.
