Your statement is not correct: Iran has indeed threatened force, specifically against Israel. Iran may not have nuclear weapons now, but its reticence about allowing international inspection is strong evidence that it is working on them. And Iranians are invading Iraq, causing much mischief there. It is evident that Iran comprises a significant threat to international security; it may come to the point where this threat is considered so severe that force must be used.

Iran is supplying the insurgency in Iraq. There is pretty good indication that Iranian agents are attacking US forces in Iraq.
Iran is developing nuclear weapons. Iran has threatened Israel with anihilation. Iran threatens shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
Iran took US hostages in 1979 and we have not given them "payback" yet.

OK man, I'm gonna set you straight on every single thing you said.

- Iran has been talking trash to us, we have constantly maintained that we have no desire to attack Iran

- Iranian agents have been found among Iraqi insurgents in Iraq

- Iran has expressed a desire to "Wipe Israel off of the map"

How do you know that Iran has no nuclear weapons question mark and comma perhaps the drumspacebeat you are hearing has prevented you from hearing the threats period

It will give justification to continue occupation in the surrounding areas, try to secure a foothold, gain more resources, heighten public support for ongoing projects in the area... I guess we need something new and fresh so attention on foreign affairs will concentrate on a different country...
