If 90% of the scientists on earth today are wrong about global warming shouldn't we just disregard every bit of science ever done.
If this were the middle ages instead of the 21st century, would we all be arguing over whether or not the world was flat.

Most scientists agree that human activity started a cycle of global warming. This cycle cannot be stopped. Arguing over it seems a moot point at this time.

The question is do we take steps to stop CO2 emissions now. Is it too late, or is there a benefit?

A friend was arrested by the police for an alleged crime, and they told me I could pick her up for $40. I asked if that was the bond or bail, and they said it was "the fee".

They only accepted cash, they didn't give me a receipt, and I asked if that money gets returned to me when she is proven innocent and they told me no.

I was told I was waiting for the bondsman to show up. I asked again and was told the money not a bond, but a "fee".

What the heck did I just pay for? I thought when you get arrested and want be released you get two option; pay the bond or pay the bail.

So my questions are:
1) Did I pay a bond instead of a "fee"?
2) Is it legal for a police department to only offer you the option of a bond and not allow you to opt for the full bail? If no, do I have recourse to sue to get my money back since I wasn't offer the chance to pay bail?

Seems like the Constitution and the Bill of Rights are just two pieces of paper in the way of police departments getting extra revenue

Personally I do have a problem with illegals just flowing into United States unchecked .
And I have to agree with the ICE spokesperson - That if something really bad happens , American citiizens would have the right to point fingers and demand anwers.

About half of the nearly 190,000 illegal immigrants deported last year had criminal records, U.S. authorities said.

This isn't really an immigration issue. It's a public safety issue," ICE spokeswoman Virginia Kice said. "You can be sure there'll be a finger-pointing drill at the end of the day if they do something evil."

The other side of the coin....but do illegals have American rights or is this just an excuse to overlook their behavoir?...
"It's a practice that leads to weakening or eliminating civil liberties," said Nativo Lopez, president of the Los Angeles-based Mexican American Political Association.

I admit I voted for Bush in the last election, but I have been disgusted by his performance for many reasons. Assuming a Democrat will win the next election (McCain is a Bush clone and puppet), I think he/she needs to seriously explore alternate fuel sources. I'm tired of being held hostage by oil rich Arab nations. If we could produce ethanol, I'd much rather give my money to a farmer in Iowa than to a billionaire Arab. Bush hasn't persued this because of his ties to the oil industry.
