Do you know what that is? A one followed by 11 zeros.

Where is that money coming from?

Of course, the middle class, that means you and me. Rich people don't use YA's, they have better things to do - like ask for more tax cuts.

How many schools could be built, teachers hired, police equipment provided, blah blah blah with 100,000,000,000 dollars?

I'm sick of this crap. Bring the troops home, let Iraq fester (it's going to anyways), and nuke Iran if they start feeling frisky. Let's use OUR money to fix OUR problems, like broken schools.

I don't want to hear any crap about "fighting them over there, or we will be fighting them here." That's BS, and you know it. The task of securing our own borders would be comparatively easier than regulating the whole world - all of Africa, the middle east, and Asia - for finding and eliminating terrorists.

Democracy to loot Iraqi oil is not democracy, a sovereign nation has elected leaders by people from within, not from an occuping force, so is not democracy. the democracy Bush is impossing today is the same as Hitler,Stalin dictatorships. No Weapons ,we must get out, the lives of our marines in their early 20's is worth more then the pride of Bush and friends profits.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A man spit tobacco juice into the face of Jane Fonda after waiting in line to have her sign her new memoir.

Capt. Rich Lockhart of the Kansas City Police Department said Michael A. Smith, 54, was arrested Tuesday night on a municipal charge of disorderly conduct. Smith, a Vietnam veteran, told The Kansas City Star Wednesday that Fonda was a "traitor" and that her protests against the Vietnam War were unforgivable. He said he doesn't chew tobacco but did so Tuesday solely to spit juice on the actress.

"I consider it a debt of honor," he told The Star for a story on its Web site. "She spit in our faces for 37 years. It was absolutely worth it. There are a lot of veterans who would love to do what I did."

Some readers commented:
"I would like to pay Mr. Smith's bail. He is a true patriot."

"I don't like what [Fonda] did and will never forgive her. If I was on a jury to sentence the tobacco spitter I'd say 'if she deserved the spit, you must acquit.'"

As an English person but a keen watcher of the US and observing questions and answers from Americans on here, it seems to me that those with strongly Republican views seem to be less articulate, less able to grasp and interpret complex issues, possibly less intelligent, than Democrats.
Could any Americans on here make known to me their political allegiances and educational level, so we can get a feel for whether this is true?

Think about it.

The main reason so many people sneak into the USA is because they have no future in their own countries. The HUGE problem in Latin America is racism: a very small elite controls most of the wealth in each one of our countries.

Since they have the wealth, they are also the ones in control of the army and the businesses. They are the ones who deal with the First World, who supports them. Since they feel they have nothing to fear from elections or from justice, they are corrupt.

Instad of trying to make walls high enough to prevent Hispanics from crossing, should the USA do her best to stop the Feudal system still in existence South of the border?

Stop trading with the corrupt, racist Latin American white elites. Force them to hold real elections, where all parties are represented and not only those they approve of. Force them to integrate their people, to allow their majority of Black, Mulatto, Amerindian and Mestizo people to get health care, education, etc.

How global warming makes it snow in Texas.. . on and off for weeks ? How about record snow in Denver ? How about snow in Arizona ? How about 40 inches of snow this week in Michigan ?

I'm being sarcastic, but I do clearly recognize the changes in all of weather . And I saw several reports that the 'conference on global warming' was going to publish an acknowledgment soon that they have NO PROOF that MANKIND has anything to do with it at all .

I think the fanatics on here are 'much too quick to lay the blame on man' . And that stance, without proof, further polarizes them from getting to the truth .

How do you view Global Warming ?

Some say the 16th Amendment but I'm looking for a document that makes it mandatory. Even in the Statutes used by the IRS, the word "income" is not defined.

with the IPCC report due out, which says that they are 90% sure that global warming is caused by humans, conservatives STILL scream that its a liberal myth. global warming is not something that is only talked about in america...every country in the world is talking about the problem. but people here still want to believe it is a myth made up by Al Gore. there has NEVER been a study to show that global warming is not caused by humans. are the conservatives on here really top notch, world famous scientists who really know whats going on??? i dont think so. when a group of over 500 scientists from many many different countries come together and discuss six years of research, how in the world can you ignore that? all they say is "warming occurs over time naturally" crap. well im sure it does...but an overwhelming majority of scientists agree that humans are accelerating it....not causing it, but increasing it. why cant conservatives just admit that they are wrong???

America is clearly not an empire. Empires forcefully conquer sovereign nations for the purpose of permanent territorial expansion and the establishment of permanent political hegemony over the indigenous population. Take the Western Hemisphere as an example; all shattered remnants of what were once proud European empires. When America finds itself in the awkward position of occupying another nation, it is not done with a grand Napoleonic vision of world conquest, and it's in response to either a direct act of hostility (i.e. Japan, Afghanistan), or its done because, in the broader context of greater empirical events, a nation would eventually constitute a threat against us (i.e. Iraq), or it is done in order to alleviate the pain and suffering an oppressive regime has caused on its people. America offeres to other nations, some not all, the services that governments offer to their own people. So America is much like the sun to the solar system. Thats why nations havent risen against us

If everybody can stop hyperventalating for just a minute...

Can anybody name me a job that is going to be impacted by the change to minumum wage? Not a generality mind you, a job.

Do you know anybody who is going to open up a pay envelope in a week and see more cash due to this law?

If not, why are we wasting time discussing it ad-nausium.

Remember: I want an exact job, not a generality for the answer.
