Yes.

Well for the most part NO. It is shied upon for another officer to issue a ticket to a fellow police officer. Although this is so, it does in fact happen. A Bergen County officer who is my neighbor recently gave a cop in my town while he was on patrol a 2 tickets. He issued him a ticket for failure to stop at a stop sign. The officer was also issued a ticket for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle after he did not stop for a while. This is a dick move, but by neighbor has had problem with this cop in my town in the past, so he decided to screw him. Most likely he will definitely get off, but it is a hassle and embarrassment. I suppose he got a taste of his own medicine.

Yes - there is a catch though.
When pulled over, if you immediately show them your badge and start talking about who you are etc, you will get a ticket. The badge does not let you drive any way you want.
On the other hand, if you delicately mention that your in law enforcement, they could let you off. I work in a law enforcement office and most all have received tickets while off-duty.
I have been pulled over on-duty in a unmarked rig by a state officer and he let us go - after telling me to slow it down a bit.
If speeding on-duty, I am personally liable for any damages/harm my driving may bring.
Hope that answers your question!

Some do, most don't. Depends on the cop writing the ticket. As for the cops being no better than anyone else...your right. So when they make a mistake, cut them the same slack as you would anyone else....right? Hard to look at it both ways huh?

I've only seen this happen once. I was in Viriginia in 1996 when I my light was yellow and the cop behind me also went through - when it was red.

We happened to be on the edge of the county line and another cop pulled the one behind me over - not sure if he got a ticket though...

It depend on the officer and the situation with today's modern computers in the police cars some times if they pull over a car they don't have a choice.

only if they show them their bagde and then they get off.Although in my personal opion they should get a ticket like evryone else.Look at that fool in the suburbs who killed to innocent young men while he was intoxicated and driving recklessly. He is now serving time for it., Police or not we are to all be treated equally.
