Different circumstances, different individuals.

Murphy Brown was a TV show seen by millions. It was the glorification of the out of wedlock childbirth that Mr. Quayle found offensive.

There won't be a documentary about Cheney's daughter. That's the difference.

Bush Senior's vice president and Dick Cheney are different people. Not everyone is the same, even when you categorize them as conservative.

no i don't consider it progressing they have always been hypocritical. take bush and his anti-gay, anti-gay adoptions, anti-gay parenting. but yet his vp's daughter is haveing a child and BUSH gave his congrads to VP. now whats wrong with having a child out of wedlock, but yet aslong as the couple is married it is fine to have 10 kids, live off of welfare, and abuse the kids?? oh yea I would say huge hypocrites.

I would instead ask if republicans think that Mary Cheney's partner should have any parental rights.

You don't get it. It has to do with positions of influence, not individual differences. It's not like Cheney influenced his daughter to be a lesbian or has championed the gay agenda. It's also not like he can command his daughter to not be gay or to not have a baby.

Wow lets go back to the 1980s to make a point. Conservatives say the homosexual lifestyle is wrong(some) but not that you cant live it if you want to. They are opposed to legitimizing it(marriage).

Ugh, libs have nothing except "Bush lied" and "hypocrite."

Quale was right: a child deserves a father and a mother.

I figured you would have praised Cheney's daughter for excercising her "right to choose."

As long as it supports their agenda, they'll say anything. Mission accomplished!
