If you don't get involved with the process you can't complain about it when things don't go your way. Put up or shut up. VOTE.
The last presidential elections have been decided by less than 1% of a difference. It matters.
One voice. One vote.

Without proportional representation democracy is a farce - In modern democracy multi-party system is there to exist.
But voting in democracies where there is no arrangements for proportional representation of the contenting political parties, the exercise is reduced to a farce! Lets see why.
It is also a universal phenomenon that in most mature democracies around 60% polling of legitimate votes take place.
Now, suppose A, B and C are the contending parties in a constituency. B gets 28% and C 32% then A gets 40% of the votes polled and is declared the winner. But actually A gets 40% of 60% votes or 24% votes only to be the winner! Thus, even if 100-24 = 76% are against or not supporting a candidate he/she can be a winner in our democracy. This thing must change. If the contenders are more even the winner may get lesser votes.
Therefore, there is an urgent need to bring in proportional representation system in Indian democracy.

Voting is necessary! There would be no governement if you did not vote. Yes, I know that voting has become more about the person's image and how much money he has but it is still very important to vote.

Everyone knows to complaint that politicians are courrupted ppl and govt is not good. We have such a nice system of voting. But when its our turn to vote the right person, we say: "who wil go", "anyway we know who will win", "all are same" etc. If we say all this and sit at home and dont vote then we dont have rights to crib about our nation or where it is going. If we are really worried about our country, we must do our part by voting right person. Its not only our rights but its our duty to vote.

It is absolutely necessary. It is our duty & our right as Americans. We chose our leaders (well not in the case of George W. Bush... we voted against him but somehow he rigged the state of Florida & got in there anyway) & we have the right to chose who will fit the countries needs best. If you don't vote then you have no right to complain about what a poor job the government is doing!
