It is not the population. After 60 years of freedom, still Pakistan's literacy rate is mere 29%. They are nowhere near to the development. India has developed in all the fields. We are the 4th economically powerful country in Asia. what about others?. It would been different - if it is not parted. Some bad things make the good for some people.

just for the simple logical reason that a smaller country and lesser people are easier to be ruled.See what countries like Denmark did for greenland.I think these things are to be seen in a GLOBALISED [SORRY UNIVERSALISED MANNER]for Universal human and animal welfare,rather than smaller lots of casts and clans!
