.. the media to manipulate to such an extent, that good decent people actually vote for bad governments?

Gordon Brown, tipped to become the next NEW Labour leader has, allegedly, admitted he does not like the majority of UK people - (being a Scot, maybe he should be in charge of the Scottish Parliament and not concentrate his efforts on the Westminster lot !) so my question about Gordon is -

What changes can we expect to happen were he to become NEW Labour leader OR the next UK Prime Minister?

Can we assume that he will re-evaluate this mythical "special friendship" with USA?

50 years ago there was a national identity, there was a nation to be proud over. A nation that could stand up for itself and which acted largely in a manner that would assure its national interests came first, instead of the inevitable decline into policing the world. We've lost our morality, our sense of purpose, our shared dreams and aspirations as a nation. Hell, america is even losing the European identity that defined it for its first 200 years of existence and to say thats something that will prove to be detrimental to national character is something racist and...facist?! Jesus christ do people even know what that word means when they throw it around... We elect presidents whom serve corporate interests over our own, who suspend our basic freedoms in the form of habeas corpus, and who believe that they are the idealogical roadmap for every country that isn't our own. So, is America dead?

I am also concerned about our part in this as a country. This man clearly was evil. The country clearly not stable. How can we be certain that this human being was given a stable trail? Please do not get me wrong, he should have been punished. Was this our right to start the ball rolling?
