I think Americans are trying to stabilize the world and promote democracy, which is in everyone's best interest.

Americans already control the world, to a certain degree. It started immediately after WW II with our rebuilding of Europe and Asia, our governing of Japan, NATO and a number of other things. The surviving superpowers in the world were the US and the USSR, and we had the nuclear deterrant and bully pulpit.

Every other major power in the world had been exhausted or decimated during the war.

US companies were the beneficiaries of the rebuilding plans, and we began to dominate markets all over the world as a result. Executives here in the states were actually acting as quasi-diplomats and perhaps as controlling powers in places where governments had equal or less influence if they were at our mercy.

US influence in the world began to diminish perhaps in the late 50's as countries began to recover and thrive. Japan recovered very quickly, as did the Philippines, and in Europe the formation of the European Economic Community brought with it a peculiar anti-American sentiment as Europeans began to think they were under our thumb a bit too much. You can see evidence of this very clearly during Nixon's presidency. Kissinger's relationship with French officials is almost always filled with tension.

It's natural for us to lose our grip on the world, partly because we really don't want it, partly because nations seek their own independence, and partly because it's fundamental to Americans that all human beings and nations have responsibility over their own territory.

Nevertheless, there are more than 30 countries in the world teaching English as a first language and more than 60 nations teaching English as a second language beginning in elementary schools because they still see our language as necessary to survival in the global marketplace.

(Incidently, the US Navy is the only navy in the world with a mission statement that includes "patrolling the world's waterways". Most navies patrol their own coasts. Ours protects the world, and it has for a long time.)

An Aluminum Foil Deflector Beanie (AFDB) is a type of headwear that can shield your brain from most electromagnetic psychotronic mind control carriers. AFDBs are inexpensive (even free if you don't mind scrounging for thrown-out aluminium foil) and can be constructed by anyone with at least the dexterity of a chimp (maybe bonobo). This cheap and unobtrusive form of mind control protection offers real security to the masses. Not only do they protect against incoming signals, but they also block most forms of brain scanning and mind reading, keeping the secrets in your head truly secret. AFDBs are safe and operate automatically. All you do is make it and wear it and you're good to go! Plus, AFDBs are stylish and comfortable.

What are you waiting for? Make one today!

Well, as a human, I would have to agree that America can be a bit of a control freak at times... but it's only because we're dealing with people who can't seem to run their own countries.

I don't think it is Americans but the American govt which is just trying to stay alive. One of my friends living in NY state mentioned to me for how long the teachers in the state are not being paied because of huge funds problem in the state. Americans need to do as what the old barbarians with cattle had to do. Go look for greener pastures.

Hundreds and thousands of Americans apposed Vietnam war, Kuwait invasion and now Iraq stupidity. How many countries are managing their troops in Iraq now?

American Govt needs to show that false facade of mighty power otherwise it is like an old lion in a jungle, will be eaten away by wolves and hynas.

Americans don't want to control any country. The problem is politicians who are globalists. They do want to control the world. The UN is the real threat. The US is being used as the UN's errand boy, by our politicians.

yes, u are 100% right with ur words....
americans are none other than the 21st century's well riched, equipped "barbarians"
this reveals from their brutal reaction against an 69 year old man,"saddam hussien" recently
these killers are protecting themselves in the name of funds to the small countries from their gruesome reactions
but there too see these barbaric peoples are not reacting same every where.they react cruel and harsh against against a weak country and almost weak or nil against stong countries like north korea which has nuke weapons
they want to hold themselves in a strong position and thereby wanted to create riots among the developing countries so that these countries cannot emerge as a strong nation in the future
e.g.india,russia,many gulf nations,venezuela,brazil etc
they ear still hacking other countries with commerce, economic growthand many other things apart from their military imperialism......
and thereby its time for all of us to wake up and to encounter these threats from american monster.....
but what an unfortunate for us,we have signed a deal with such a dreadful, evil monster......this will result only in the harm of our country's strategy.....
only god and the time can help out ........

Yes,if you see what is happening in Iraq.No nation can control other nations or decide what is good for another nation, just no individual can control another individual or decide what is good for him. When controlling one's own behaviour is itself so difficult, how can he control somebody?Let America first set its own house in order,by improving the quality of education in its public schools, where children of ethnic minorities and poor families study.Let the school drop-out rate be reduced among the poor families.Let racial hatred and crime become a thing of the past.Let schools become a safe place for kids to go,instead of becoming a place for testing one's gun handling skills. If all these things happen in their own soil, then let America volunteer to bring peace and democracy to nations where it believes people do not have them at present and need America's help.
