We are getting crushed in both wars and we have yet to make any changes to improve our strategies. Everyone (with a brain) is all ticked off about the Iraq wars lies and failures but no one is freaking out about the war on drugs?
Do you think this kind of scrutiny on the war on drugs might birth some improvements?

I got a DUI in may '06 under the age of 21. The DMV told me that my license would be revoked for 1 year. Later I received a letter out-of-the-blue from the DMV, telling me that from 1 year, my waiting period had been cut down to 6 months.
Now, 6 months have passed and I called the DMV to see what's up, and they say that anyone who gets a DUI under 21 gets their license revoked for a year, so I still had 6 more months to wait.
But when I asked them about the letter I received, they said that there was nothing like it recorded under my file, BASICALLY they're saying that there was never such a letter ....
WHAT SHOULD I DO?
Dispute it or let it go? They made me believe that I would get it back in December! Now they're saying that it's not true!
PLEASE HELP

Because of the current situation in the world I am worried about what will become of America in the coming years, What I mean is the government may go sour or be abolished all together. If this happens I see the most valuable thing not being gold, instead I think it will be guns. My question is do you think America will go bad/ disband etc? Do you think it is a good idea to stockpile weapons incase of this happening and if so, what weapon would be the best to stockpile? Thank You, I hope to see many different ideas.

okay, lets see if I can get this out w/out going into a ton of frivolous detail. Basically my ex is trying to take custody of our daughter away from me. He's not even seen her in 5 years & claims he's not known where we've been since '01(though I have PROOF otherwise) he's also well over 30K in arrears of child support. He is claiming I am "unfit" & that I am bipolar & violent. he has said this in some pre-trial documents and has absolutely ZERO evidence. The people he has listed as "his" witnesses do not even know me! I'm sure he's been telling them all sorts of b.s. tales about me just as he told me about his 1st wife while we were married. Of course there is a ton more to this but my real ? is, can I write a heartfelt letter to these people & tell them the TRUTH and ask them to think of the damage even going through this process (interivews etc etc) would do to an innocent child? Is it legal for me to contact these folks? I'd like to get a handle on this before any trial...

He is becoming more isolated and contradicting what his views were in the past several weeks. His own power structure of generals are disagreeing with his policy as 78% of Americans from a Bloomberg poll published today. Forget politics, we need to wonder where this man's mind is at.

Are most of you posting here just a bunch of 10-13 yr. olds with nothing better to do and no real sense of politics in a broader, more mature way? Words like "liberal" and "conservative" are as worn out and meaningless as last year's hip-hop slang.

If all you can do is ask stupid questions and use weak labels, for God's sake, go do your homework, read a book, play a video game and leave the real discussions to people with larger brains.

There are politicians on BOTH sides of any issue that are worthy AND worthless. No one party has a monopoly on intelligent solutions, and if you think one does, you should just go drown yourself and thin the herd a bit.

My sister is pregnant with baby of a man who is not a citizen of this country, he might have to go back to his country because his work visa is up, he always refuses to pay child support. Is he obligated to pay child support even though he is not a citizen? What are her legal rights?

In America, there is a growing fear of a new Chinese superpower. Some people even fear of a Chinese invasion.

My question is this: in China, when they hear news of President Bush wanting to expand the US military and tales of US exploits abroad, do Chinese citizens, politicians, and analysts fear the US like we do them?
