WELL FIRST THEY SAID THEY WOULDN'T LOSE THE CONGRESS. THEN WHEN THEY DID. THEN THEY TRIED TO MAKE IT MORE PALATABLE BY SAYING, WELL THE LIBS THAT WON WERE ACTUALLY RIGHT WING TILTING. THEY LIE WHEN THEY GET UP IN THE MORNING AND THEY LIE BEFORE THEY GOTO BED.

Are you for real? Bush was not running in 2006 so the presidency did not change. Bush will be president for another 2 years. Maybe the majorities in the house and senate switched from Republican to Democrat in the 2006 election, but that did not really change much for the Republicans or the Bush followers. They are sticking to their principles and do not plan to buckle under the pressure that some loudmouthed, half ****** liberals are putting them through. We are in a dangerous war where Muslim have sworn to destroy us. If you have any brain cells in your head you would know that you cannot "negotiate with radical terrorists who have sworn an oath to destroy you. If we do not fight the war where the terrorists are living and try to encourage a democratic government to be established in Iraq which is also the case, then those Insurgents coming from Iran and Syria to cause the problems keeping us from succeeding in forming that democratic government in Iraq as fast as we would like it, those insurgents would instead be here in the United States bombing the hell out of us worse and more wide spread than the 911 attacks. They have already stated it themselves.
Thank God Bush is president today because if someone wimpy like Kerry were elected in 2004, the enemy would have destroyed the United States by now. There may be a few protesters of the war among mothers of soldiers in Iraq, but by far MOST of the families of the brave men and women fighting this war are behind the war and Bush 100%, because they understand the truth. Bush bashers are usually ignorant idiots who do not understand the truth. It is their interference that could be the real cause that defeating the terrorists is taking so long. "United we stand and Divided we fall"! So shut up and unite behind Bush so we can get the job done! Thank you and Merry Christmas!

Republicans did win the civil war, as well as freeing the slaves (Lincoln was a Republican).
And the Democrats won the 2006 election by a narrow majority, creating a lame duck congress.

We're just happy-go-lucky unlike rather than bitter losers like Al Gore was. If he'd have been able to carry his homestate he would have been President. Instead of focusing on what he could have done better he chose to focus on how it was the other guy's fault.
I personally know Al Gore, he's a smart man bookwise, but apparently he's a few cards short on emotional intelligence. Either that or he had horrible advisors. Either way he lost and America has been better off for it.
In a way, you seem to be about as emotionally intelligent as Gore. I used to be a Demonrat until I woke up and smelled the stench I was wrapped up in. Word to the wise: instead of focusing on the other guy try and focus on yourself and how you can do better. Otherwise, you'll just spend the rest of your days bitterly.

Read a history book, Lincoln's party (Republicans) won the civil war. As for the other question, we lost but are looking forward to 2008.
P.S. Watching CNN will rot your brains

Follower or not Bush is the president no matter what people say!
He was elected by the people, so that's it! Losers always come up with non-sense! Not all losers of course! Foolish people do indeed
spout non-sense and strive to create what they wish to believe! Befor you have a cow, no, I did not vote for him. And there is no way I would vote for John Kerry either! But the rest I would vote!

They don't and have yet to meet one that says the republicans won, unless they are talking about the power of the veto. And history shows that the republicans did win the Civil War.

I think a better way to pose this is why do conservatives think they won in the 2006 elections?
I phrase it this way because Americans got rid of big spending, big government Republicans.
As for Rush, you need to listen to him before commenting on what he said. He stated that conservatism won because Americans voted in what they thought are conservative Democrats. They have another thing coming.
Every time that Republicans run as conservatives, and implement what they run on, they win in a landslide in national elections. See Reagan in 1980 and Newt and the Contract with America in 1994.

Because they know that Bush is going to have a coup de tat, take over the US Govt. and become dictator of the 1st American Theocracy in 2009. So yes, they will soon have won the 2nd American civil war.

Was Clinton a victory?
He dropped the ball on Al Qeada and look at where we are now.
I am not a supporter of any of them, but people pay to much attention to one side.
At least Goofy *** Bush exposed some truths that we always new about our government. He is the first one to take one for the team. Elections, spending, etc is always crap not matter who the president is.

Well, the Democrats do have the majority, but no real power, as the President can veto any bill they try to pass through congress.
And since they don't have 2/3rds majority, they can't override the veto...so really, the Democrats didn't win either...
But CNN and Al Franken didn't tell you that, now did they?
