A fifty-cent condom would have prevented this whole problem. Safe sex, people!

Citizen or not all people living in this country are bound with the laws that govern it. Your sister can still file for child support but if this guy does not have an SS# or did not file any tax returns he might claim that he does not make any money to give away then there is nothing you can do.
Just try talking to him reasonably maybe he'll do the right thing but next time take the precautions don't become pregnant

I'd say your sister better start forming a plan to take care of herself & the child. Perhaps, if she cannot provide for the child she should think of the best thing for the child & put it up for adoption.
Believe me, having an ex that is 37K behind on child support...it's hard enough to get someone to pay even when you know where he is & works & have a court order. I'd say there is next to no chance of her getting support from some one who is not a citizen unless he WANTS to provide the support.
good luck & may God bless that baby & your family.

Depends upon the agreements the United States has with that country.
In recent years, the United States has signed a number of bilateral agreements in regards to child custody and support. If this man is from one of those countries, then there is a way that he will be made to pay child support.

What an awful mistake.
She should consider putting the baby up for adoption.
I have to admit that I'm a little nervous that "child support" was your sister's first thought. Some women these days don't even think about marriage and instead just look for a free ride.

Please tell me he's not from the middle east! These guys come over to hump everything in sight than go back home and get married! I've seen this happen before. I would have her see a lawyer. If he leaves the country how is he going to be forced to pay support? She should be prepared to be a single parent, unless she gives it up for adoption or has an abortion. She should of used birth control

If you are legally resident in the US, you must follow all our laws. If she gets a court order, he will have to pay. If he doesn't, he's subject to the same penalties as anyone else.
If he's illegally here, then she should report him to Immigration, and get him deported. She can then move to his country of origin and sue for child support there.

He is still obligated to pay child support. She must contact the Child Support Enforcement office ASAP. When the child is born, he could very well deny paternity. They will give him the DNA test and then he is obligated to pay no matter what.

Maybe she should marry him and move to his country! Why does everyone assume that she MUST stay here? She can always follow the father of her baby to his homeland and be happy there. May God's blessing be upon you.

He's obligated if he lives here. Your sister should have got a wedding vow before turning out to him. Now we all have to support her whelp.
