Just looking at it for a parallel in Iraq. It seems that the groping political strategy between the two are relatively similar----the longer these things drag on, the more they favor guerrillas.

When people have a chance to interview a Presidential candidate why do they kiss up to them instead of asking real political questions?

It's not just The View, it's also The Daily Show. Remember when John Kerry was on The Daily Show before the 2004 election?

My brother says that they are introducing new laws for probationary drivers in Australia. Apparently, they are limiting amount of passangers per vehicle, introducing a curfew (apparently 6pm - 6am), and increasing the amount of 'experience hours' before you get your Ps to 100 (currently 25).
Anyone know any info? (particularly WA)

Is this true?

Thnks

I am currently on welfare in New York State.

Before you go off on a rant about your tax dollars let me fill you in.

I get foodstamps, Cash assistance, and medicad.

Now my question is :

In New York (as is probably true for other states as well) to get cash assistance, you have to complete 40 hours a week of job search, job training, volinteer work, or other job related activites. Then after you have secured employment, they slowly wean you off state assistance. Then thats it your own your own. I am currently about to be in this situation. I start my new job next month.

Now my question is if any state offers a free budgeting program for people who are just getting on their feet after being on state assistance?

If not, don't you think we should have one?

It is much harder to budget your money if your not required to. And I feel that it would help people stay on their feet and not revert back to state assistance quiet as often.

What do you think?

...that America, has been calling us "Hispanic," "Mexican," "(other Hispanic culture)," and "Mexican-American?"

i get annoyed when people tell me what to call myself. but when i look back and think about it, is it not America that has been calling us these things that you all so dearly detest?

Don't get me wrong, i'm not dissing America AT ALL. but why do people assume that we are freely calling ourselves these names i mentioned above?

when i take a test at school, it asks me to bubble in "Mexican-American" or "Hispanic"

i thought i was American?

also, many people constantly ask me, "are you Mexican?" either that, or if they already know i am, they will address me as a Mexican.

so for all you "hyphenation-haters," even if we wanted to be just "American," we couldn't because for some reason, we will always just be "Hispanic," or "Mexican," or "(other Hispanic culture)," or "Mexican-American"

Is it not true?

My ex-American Girlfriend's family are threatening to do all types of things concerning the bank account we used to hold. They say i have threatened her, endangered her safety, mis-used private information, stalked her and harrased her about it. I did no such thing, I did call from the UK to find out whats going on and ended up getting in a big argument with her Dad.

They say they are going to an attourney and the police; I can't mount a defence from the UK, is it true they can get all my details from immigration when I visited in October and make a warrant for my arrest even though I'm out f the country. If i do go to the USA to sort out this horrible mess will I be arrested, but if i don't I can't sort any of this mess out. They are also refusing to release any of the bank statements and receipts; and i have reason to believe that my personal details may be used fraudulently. Who should I contact?
